Project Summary

The idea of this project is a response to the decreasing motivation of pupils who are getting lower and lower school results due to different reasons such as the time they spend using their phones and devices just to play games, watch youtubbers and in social networks such as Instagram, etc. This makes them loose concentration when studying and lack of enough sleeping hours. The project “Motivation and Motion” aims at teaching our students how to use ICT appropriately to improve their free time, their academic results and their health. Teaching them to value the environments where they live respecting the environment and cultural heritage. The main objective of the project will be teaching the students how to use ICT properly, increasing their motivation to study, and avoiding early school leaving. Further objectives will be valuing nature as a natural heritage that must be preserved and preferring sports and activities that are eco-friendly, as well as developing cultural, social, language, teamwork skills.
Activities: Interdisciplinary access is important, so different subjects will be involved. Skills acquired will be applied in different areas.
The activities planned are the way to achieve the objectives of the project. There will be a meeting in each of the countries during the two years of the project working
on different aspects of the topic. Formative activities, workshops, students presentations, exhibitions and cultural visits will be organized.
Before meetings Etwinning will be used for virtual mobilities: discussions in forums or preparing presentations.
During the meetings, we will focus on innovative practices in a digital environment combined with outdoors healthy activities to blend natural heritage, healthy sport eco friendly activities with new ICT techniques to engage our students in the appropriate use of ICT improving their concentration and motivation while studying.
Students will also get knowledge of how tourism could combine cultural and business issues and how cultural sites could be discovered using technology. The different activities will be related to the relevant subjects and curriculums and the school’s curriculum will be improved, including for example motivating activities using ICT and going outdoors.
Methodology: Students can profit from a meaningful implementation of new media. In the course of “open lessons” and innovative learning methods students will work on new topics while researching the web. Students are going to work on professional possibilities in their future and will develop an entrepreneurial point of view.
Students will be encouraged to use programs and apps which support and stimulate them. Students will work in mixed nationality groups and teams.
Through supporting critical thinking and creativity regarding the use of new technologies, new opportunities of digitalization are shown. International collaborative activities realised during the process will help students increase their capacity of operating on a transnational level, which will be an excellent skill for their future as professionals. In order to better achieve these goals, during mobilities, students will be hosted by their partners. This way they will be better immersed in different cultural aspects and learn from each other.
Students(15-17 years old), 50% will be fewer opportunities, teachers, parents, local governments and associations will be the participants in our project.
Short description of the results and impact envisaged and the potential long-term benefits:
Some results will be tangible direct products of activities: e-guides, exhibitions, website, leaflets, Break exercises to be carried out during the breaks at school. They will be renewed and exchanged between the partner schools.
Through the many possibilities of ICT, students and all the participating partners will stay in contact in the future, even after the planned end of the project.
The city run event (a yearly event in Waidhofen/Ybbs, Austria) will also be carried out by the partner institution.
Some others will be intangible: Europass, exchange of ideas and good practices, improvement of communication, social, language, digital and cultural competences
Already during the project, each school will create an Erasmus+ corner in a visible place in the school building. Through the platform of eTwinning, the students will form international teams and use other web tools in order to ensure further communication. The products will be available in e-twinning, the website and Erasmus platform to be used by anyone interested.
The project will be continuously reported on local media, social networks and different websites. In addition, attempts will be made to initiate partnerships between the regions involved in other areas. For example, the cooperation between sports clubs that are already involved in the project. In the course of school events, parents, future students and graduates will be informed about the project.
