Project Summary
The “solar-powered flowers” project is a French- German which consists in designing and building solar-powered stations to reload pupil’s mobile phones on school grounds. Through years, several flowers could be implemented to create a kind of field used by pupils to reload their phones. These power stations will have the shape of flowers, the solar panels will be set in the petals. Both the German and the French teams will work together to list the specifications, study the sunshine datas of each areas and create prototypes. They would communicate through e-Twinning and Skype to exchange their datas and results and they would also meet twice to work on the concrete evolutions of their prototypes and exchange their materials as the German team will take care of the French flower and vice-versa. The pupils will use the English language to communicate. The idea is to focus on technological sections who often feel different, if not inferior, to humanities ones. Many of our pupils need to boost their self-confidence to consider their future studies and mobilities with more serenity and we do think such a project could help them in that way.
