Project Summary
Our Tales
The communication skills of the children are nowadays neglected, so the main task of our project is to reinforce the ability to strengthen the sense of speech and verbalism in the way closest to young children, with tales. Teachers from five countries try different fairy tale methods, then share their experiences and write their own tales, reinforced with what’s new and learned. The characters in the tales are the heroes of the countries, they introduce the different cultures and improve the children’s verbal communication. In the tales, the characters experience the adventures together with children, enriching their vocabulary and language skills. The 3-7 year olds make online friends, get to know the tales and heroes of other countries, and help them figure out the characters’ adventures. New content is being added to programs with parents, that helps to involve families as well. In addition to traditional storytelling, info-communication technologies have a significant role to play today, in which the openness and motivation of the teacher is decisive (online tales). The result is an illustrated digital storybook, each with an English dictionary that can be seen on eTwinning, and shared as good practice.
