Project Summary

We are an association of six schools, from Poland, Italy, Ireland, Slovenja, Greece and Spain with a numerous immigrant population and an important number of pupils in disadvantage situation. From the analysis of the needs of our schools arises this project which main objective is to ease the integration of pupils at risk of social exclusion (from migration, refugees, ethnic minorities or pupils with special needs) and we will do it through the internationalization of our schools. More specifically we will establish as main objectives:
• Favour the integration of collective in social disadvantage (immigrants, refugees, ethnic minorities, socioeconomic marginalized,…) that, also, are more susceptible to drop of the school in the first stages of their training.
• Improve the formulae of attention of the pupils with special needs.
• Improve the linguistic competence in English to all the participant pupils.
Other objectives respecting to the educators, are:
• Increase the competence of our teachers through the formation in innovative and integrative methodologies.
• Improve the linguistic competence in English.
The pupils directly involved in the project are 250, of which a great number belonging to groups of social exclusion.
The teachers that will compose the Commissions for the internationalization of the schools are 46, nearly all of them are competent in English language, most of them have knowledge in inclusive methodologies and use of the ICT. The activities of the pupils, will be the start up of a web page that will collect all the resulting products of the association: a book about culture and traditions, a Multilanguage dictionary and a Quiz game. Also, it will be developed charity markets which name will be “Little Aylan”, in memory of the tragedy of a young Sirius boy. The funds will be destined to help the refugees. With all the information in each section of our book based on our history and culture, each country will make a TV programme on a multinational connection to show online all this information about the topics through the performance of different pupils as presenters. The activities of the teachers will consist mainly in attend to the seminars about innovating and integrative methodologies, and the practice of job shadowing during the mobility. Also, they will be responsible of the seminars of dissemination that will be organized once they are back in their schools to get to the biggest possible number of persons their knowledge. About methodology, we will use the technique of job shadowing to get the knowledge necessary to be able to transfer the good practices to our schools. We will do the same with the seminars. In both cases, all the information will be transmitted to a bigger number of teachers through talks or seminars of dissemination in each of the implicated schools. Respect to the pupils, the methodology in the activities will be inclusive allowing to the pupils with or without risk of social exclusion share them in equality of conditions according to their characteristics. The results and the impact expected are: the improvement in the integration of these groups at risk of social exclusion, the internationalization of the teachings and learning in our schools, social changes in the perception of that which is different, the acquisition of innovating methodological competences by our professionals and the improvement of the communicative capacity in English language of pupils and teachers. The long- term benefits are: the awareness of European dimension and identity and international, improvement of the linguistic competence in English, knowledge and intercultural exchange, overcome ideological barriers that question the different and the beginning of a collaboration that extends in the future the benefit of all the associated members.
