Project Summary

Aim of the project is to assist organizations in Europe and Africa in developing their capacity to work with young people in solving the wide range of problems they encounter in their lives.
Objectives:
– Creation of tools for development of leadership skills and key competencies in young people (learning skills, initiative, social and civic competences, digital skills);
– Providing practical work by organizing information campaigns and activities, youth initiatives with international participation and local actions;
– Analysis and recognition of non-formal and independent learning for both young people and youth workers through the promotion of lifelong learning and the dissemination of great practices;
– Promotion of web-based system for sharing information and educational resources which can be used by the partners in the project and other stakeholders;
This project aims to build on the experience of youth workers and teams of two European and two African organizations through sampling a model for cooperation and exchange of best practices. The project envisions a wide promotion of the possibilities of non-formal education in the participating countries and familiarization with tools for self-assessment and validation of acquired skills in non-formal and independent learning.
The project includes a training module for capacity development of youth workers and practice through the implementation of programs for the development of competencies in young people:
a) long-term (6-month EVS),
b) short-term intensive program (8-day youth exchange, training course for youth leaders and providing supervision in the implementation of youth initiatives)
c) educational visit (10-day practice in a partner organization).
Within the project, the participants will be encouraged to assess the developments and the specific particular cross skills and their application in other fields of work. The gained experience will encourage entrepreneurship towards the introduction of social innovation in education, training and work with young people, using creativity and the resources of the environment. Attracted and trained, youth leaders will expand the influence of organizations and succeed in generating change, in helping young people more adequately in the wide range of problems they encounter in their lives. The network, which we are going to create will allow the accumulationg of knowledge and resources to seek experience and new solutions.
The project will engage young people growing up in poverty and serious risk of leaving school early. Stimulating the development of their imagination, creativity, inner strength and self-confidence, we will show how disadvantaged young people can get out of poverty and become active participants in society and lead a happy, healthy and productive lives.
For th end of our work we will prepare a report of results and impact of the program “Erasmus +” in the partner countries.
