Project Summary

Four schools, the Greek school which is a school of music and secondary education, the Italian school which welcomes pupils from kindergarten to 13 years of age , in Sicily, the Romanian school which also welcomes students from kindergarten to High school and the Spanish- English bilingual secondary school came to know each other through Etwinning four years ago. Having the same desire to start a partnership, they decided to broaden there horizons, to become more conscious of the European identity and to cooperate by working together on an an Erasmus + KA219 project.
The four institutions realize that teachers, students and parents need to activate methods and strategies to prevent and fight against violence and harassment. They also want to involve their students in Europe and create at schools an atmosphere of calmness, equality and solidarity for all students that can continue over time and improve the academic results and the school drop-in. So the purpose of this cooperation is to :

• Identify types of harassment: conducting training workshops for parents and students in each school and also during international group meetings.
• Establish time for exchanges and activities between students and conduct debates on topics such as tolerance, listening to others, empathy, knowledge and acceptance of diversity in society, participation … We created “The Erasmus + Club”, when students meet to work on tolerance and friendship. There is also a program called TEI (“tutoría between iguales” ambassadeurs, mediators) which has been established and will continue at the request of students. The creation of a logo, the hymn of “En route” with its music and lyrics, the 2018 calendar, the charter, the plays, posters, slogans, commercials, debates …are some of the projects completed within the Erasmus + KA2
• Improve the integration and use of ICTs. We have communicated with the use of new technologies, we have produced short films, commercials, a radio show, an ebook, we have used Etwinning, facebook, a website …
• Improve the skills in French and English of both, teachers and students, the internationalization of institutions: travel and mobility, communication, realization of scenarios, spots, slogans, posters, charter, workshop writing, etc.
• Improve the collaboration with parents, schools and institutions by organizing meetings and joint actions with parents such as training workshops and preparations for travel and mobility.
• Promote the European values as well as the social integration and solidarity through the different activities and works created during the meetings and throughout the project.
• Improve the internationalization of high schools by traveling to other countries to other high schools.
• Promote the participation and active citizenship of our students as well as the social entrepreneurship of students by addressing the problem of harassment and by being mediators at their high school and even at others schools.

At the beginning of our project we conducted a google survey to analyze the starting point of the subject. We had another survey at the end of the project and this allowed us to realise that students, parents and teachers knew a lot about harassment and that they also knew to act. Life in the institutions has improved, there are fewer cases of harassment, more mutual-help and the protocol works as well as mutual-help programs like the TEI program in Spain. The training workshops with the parents will continue as well as the collaboration of the other institutions of the municipalities. The improvement of the institutional-family relations is clear. Workshops of awareness against harassment are planned for this year at neighboring schools. The Erasmus Club for students, a club that offer so many chances for speaking and listening will continue . The interest in exchanges in Europe and in language learning and teamwork has arrived.

Regarding the teachers, we have got the desire to continue with European projects like KA229 or KA101 and with projects on Etwinning and even between department of different subjects, interdisciplinary projects … The exchange of good practices aiming at quality learning and teaching is a reality. We have also contributed to the opening of our high schools to the municipality and to companies to Europe …. We have shared our concerns, we have found solutions, resources and the know-how .
