Project Summary
The project was about developing and modernising education, training for social farming across five different countries. Our aim was to aspire people/organisations to provide and develop social farming interventions. Social farming is a therapeutic learning therapy for people with various health and social care needs. The project considered and recorded different criteria to social farming from each country so there could be a clear measurement between projects and countries as to where social farming stands. The resulting product was the production of a social farming booklet that can be sourced on the Sofi website. The project was delivered over 2 years, involving a visit to each countries already present and developing social farming activities and also a final celebration event. For those involved there was a great amount of shared good practice that could be used for future development and also diversify their offer. The 20 case studies that were completed for the booklet now provide a working template to illustrate evidence of social farming benefits and pathways to developing and setting up a social farm.
