Project Summary

There are multiple objectives attached to the programme. It seeks to bring young entrepreneurs together, through activities such as conferences, large scale events and trainings and capacity building initiatives. Not only do young people get together, in order to exchange best practices, they also work together on shared projects and for common aims, following another objective of the programme. Afterwards, we aim at developing their entrepreneurial spirit and marketable skills for the labour market. The approach for that is represented by learning-by-doing experiences, peer to peer learning, but also discussions between young people and policy makers, private sector dialogue, and academia collaboration. Through the activities organised and with the support of such a strong network of supporters and alumni of JADE, the programme works in creating job awareness, developing hard and soft skills and giving young people an alternative to unemployment: entrepreneurship. Even if an entrepreneurial career is not followed, the young people can bring innovative ideas and achieve better results at their workplace. Afterwards, we seek to create, a sense of awareness of their role as EU citizens. Through our activities, we showcase Brussels, the European institutions and the European values. Having its headquarters in Brussels, JADE unravels many opportunities that EU creates for young people and fostering their entrepreneurial spirit. We organize one large scale youth event in Brussels, where many representatives of EC take part in, such as DG Enterprise, DG Education and Culture and DG CONNECT. Furthermore, we encourage a continuous exchange between the Member States. By putting young people in contact with JADE supporters, such as think-tanks (European Policy Centre, ThinkYoung), private and civil society (EUROCHAMBRES, BUSINESSEUROPE), businesses – corporations (Microsoft, Intel, ING) and entrepreneurs, universities (over 250 Universities in Europe), institutes (EIIL) and media publications (European Voice), the programme makes them aware of their role in the future of Europe. Brining everything together, the last objective of the programme is to inspire young people. Throughout all the activities, we showcase positive role-models, people who tell their stories. Some of these role-models are alumni of the network that always come to give back and shape the skills and the future of the young people. We wrap the programme in a story telling atmosphere, inspiring young people to have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and to become active and skilled EU citizens.A consortium of 16 partners was formed for achieving the aims of the programme, representing national youth organisations, trade associations, institutes, corporations, small and medium enterprises and think-tanks.
