Project Summary

The project Moby Click wanted to provide secondary schools with solutions for the use of digital learning and it wanted to initiate and test the introduction and implementation of distance learning. In the first project year Moby Click focused on finding and creating digital learning material. In order to do this, 3 actions were taken:1) Existing digital lessons that are available were chosen, but the rating on usefulness, attractiveness, functionality etc. by both teachers and students happened towards the end of the project. The rating tool ClickAdvisor is accessible through the website www.mobyclick.eu. 2) Participating teachers made lessons using the digital competences they acquired over the years. Each partner school provided 2 lessons per meeting (except the very fist one). The lessons were assessed by both teachers and students. The digital lessons were entered into ClickCollector, the open resources portfolio of lessons that we used as a basis of the distance learning experiments in the second project year. Clickcollector is also accessable through the website. 3) Participating teachers and their students attended training courses at the second project meeting. This set of courses is called ClickInstructor. The courses and presentations were meant to improve the participants’ digital skills, stimulate cooperation between trainers and learners and create new lessons which were to be rated by ClickAdvisor and entered into ClickCollector. The result of ClickInstructor has also been published on the website. In the second project year Moby Click used the digital learning material from ClickAdvisor, ClickInstructor and ClickCollector to organise distance learning. The collection of tutorials and guidelines preparing the distance learning, the experiments and the conclusions with attention for the use of material and people is called ClickLearner. Clicklearner was excecuted in two steps: 1) Distance learning was tested at the third project meeting using existing lessons and half of the project team attending the lessons of the other half and vice versa. 2) An additional experiment of distance learning was carried out by each partner school individually during the week from 23-27 April 2018. This special week for distance learning was called Moby Click Week. The experiments of distance learning of the fourth project meeting were not carried out as we put the full focus on workshops about digital learning tools and the additional challenge of streaming lessons and presentations had already been realised at the third project meeting. At the end of the second year we organised a Multiplier Event to dessiminate the results of the whole project. The Multiplier Event was not a conference, but a collection of hands-on workshops for teachers and students (external and internal). Organising a Multiplier Event with workshops focussing on digital tools seemed more efficient and of a greater impact than the originally planned conference for all relevant stakeholders (external partners, educational counselors and organisations, other schools etc.) The project Moby Click has provided the participating secondary schools with more competent teachers & students to create TEL. We have taken our skills beyond the project team by involving other teachers, other students during the project, and involving external teachers and students during the Multiplier Event and through the website in ClickLearner. The project has increased the spirit of co-operation between teachers and students, with digital learning material and equipment to continue (within the partnership) or start up (example of good practice for other schools) distance learning. The project Moby Click demonstrated that working together in a transnational context helps teachers and schools to focus on the main items of the curriculum in a European perspective. It will demonstrate that working together is economical (many people use the learning resources), boosts creativity and increases integration, inclusion and language competences. The digital learning material and methods of implementing distance learning will offer more learning opportunities to the students in the partnership and beyond.
