Project Summary

RE-ENGAGE! Gathers 5 partners from 3 countries where young people have been particularly affected by the recession with regard to their job prospects: high unemployment rates, discouraged workers with no or little motivation as result of negative thinking, poor self-awareness and lack of opportunities. This project aims at providing a new chance to young people to experience success through self-development, creative thinking and exploring their possibilities through entrepreneurship. Ultimately, the objective of the project is to empower young people with the necessary skills and mind-set to explore, unlock and exploit their career potential and re-engage with labor market. Re-engage! works with young unemployed people at two levels: First, working on overcoming limiting beliefs that hinder them from taking more proactive approaches and equipping them with motivation and skills needed to enter the labor market. Special focus has been put on personal development, help them cope with personal difficulties and boost confidence and positive thinking; while developing skills and competences – either filling existing gaps or more proactively seeking to acquire skills needed to progress to further employment and work related activities such as work-place behavior, CV elaboration and interview skills. Second, for more proactive young people who would like to explore self-employment, the project has created specific entrepreneurship support- to promote youth entrepreneurship and self-employment of those willing to set up their own business as an alternative route into the labor market. The project has offered face to face training on entrepreneurship to support and prepare creative business ideas, which will be available online to a wide audience. The project has produced 3 open source Intellectual Outputs: 1) Course pack “ Make the Best Out Of Yourself! – boosting confidence and motivation: a two line course on personal and professional development as well as a course designed for young aspiring entrepreneurs who want to explore an entrepreneurial path and overcome some challenges during the first steps of the entrepreneurial adventure,2) EngageHub patform! – A virtual e-learning platform and matrix for talent creation where youth can find the two-abovementioned courses and other useful information on personal development. The platform serves as a hub for exchange of experiences with other young people. 3) The Creative Me Toolbox – Tools especially designed for young people providing tips on how to unlock creativity with interactive examples and exercises. A total of 25 career advisors/trainers/facilitators and 67 young unemployed have been involved in the training activities. Out of this number, more than 50% of the involved young people have been NEETS. The project has organized 3 Conferences with 140 national participants, organized in Spain, Romania and Greece with the aim to disseminate the project results at international level to guarantee the transfer of results and sustainability of the project.
