Project Summary
The project ”Remembrance – Totalitarianism in Europe and Historical Consciousness in a European Context (Improving Student Learning Motivation in History through ICT)” aimed to establish an innovative strategy for improving student learning motivation through usage of ICTs while creating an informed historical consciousness and stimulating active participation of young people in democratic life in Europe.
To achieve this aim, the partner organisations – Jurmalas Valsts gimnazija (Latvia), Birstonas gimnazija (Lithuania), XII Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace (Poland) and VIVES University College (Belgium) carried out the following main activities:
– exchanged good practices and experiences regarding student motivation and usage of ICT – based methodologies;
– developed and implemented ICT – based approaches;
– carried out short-term exchanges of groups of pupils.
As a result, the participating organisations:
– increased quality of education by combining higher levels of excellence and attractiveness with increased opportunities for all;
– developed more strategic and integrated use of ICTs;
– raised their profile and created new opportunities to extend the project and its results or develop new partnerships for the future;
– showed more active participation in society;
– developed more positive attitude towards EU projects and EU values.
The potential long-term benefits of the project include opportunities to extend the project and its results or develop new partnerships for the future, as well as an opportunity to transfer project results to a variety of subjects.
