Project Summary
The school exchange partnership “Dual-Moravian-Slovak reciprocity in education” was based on a mutual decision of the participating schools to cooperate in developing experiential education through the application of non-traditional teaching methods and practices in general and art education at primary school. The project will involve pupils from two primary schools of the same specialization from the primary school in Makov and the primary school Hutisko-Solanec. The above-mentioned schools educate pupils in the age from 6 to 15 years old. The aim of the partnership is to exchange good practices, knowledge, skills and competences in unconventional educational methods. The main goal of the project is to link non-traditional art education with practical activity, to implement unusual art techniques in the educational process and to exchange best practices between partner schools. The added value of the school exchange partnership is the development of information and communication technologies, language skills and practical professional skills of pupils. Project participants will obtain the necessary information about the working environment, working tools, techniques, work procedures and practical activities.
Partial objectives of the project:
a) to present pupils’ knowledge, skills and competences,
b) to help young people, after completing basic education, to enter career choices and thus to the European labor market,
c) implement selected assessment tools into the educational process,
d) compare history, art and cultural development, the system of education in the field of Czech-Slovak cooperation,
e) to use English, Slovak and Czech language for communication in a new environment,
f) create relevant information outputs from the project activity,
g) to increase the professional qualification of the involved teachers of relevant subjects and consequently to use newly acquired knowledge and skills in further education and training,
h) to propagate best practices in the field of primary education among partner schools.
The project concerns the following target groups: app. 10 teaching staff and 24 pupils from each school (96 pupils in total). During the project, four workshops will be held, thematically focused on “C1-Shared bond, C2-in the footsteps of our ancestors, C3- Common but different, C4- Common culture in a time of coexistence and today”.
The theme of team cooperation of pupils will be chosen as follows to capture the most striking manifestation of the geographic location of the Primary School. During the workshops, accompanying events will be organized – joint language preparation from English, Czech and Slovak, cultural and social activities. Each Czech-Slovak meeting will be concluded by a joint exhibition at which the work of pupils will be presented to other teachers, pupils and the general public. During the project meetings, pedagogical staff will be acquainted with the selected techniques for which they will create a system of evaluation. Based on these materials, pupils will be evaluated at the last meeting. Pupils from partner schools will use techniques of cooperation and communication via the tool eTwinning, with which schools have practical experiences.
The project will include ongoing communication between school teams on a together developed website. The output of the project will be methodological manuals on technological procedures of work and a magazine of workshops participants in partner schools, which will map basic education, training and leisure activities. The planned output is an information bulletin about the project and an English-Czech-Slovak dictionary of professional terminology from the field of realized activities. During the workshops, each participant will be equipped with a tablet to document his / her activity on the assigned tasks. A common video will be created from the pupils’ recorded films. All activities will be published on the project’s common website and on the promotional DVD. The experience gained and the established working contacts will be a lasting benefit for each participant of the project activity. Pupils acquire new knowledge, skills and competences within 12 days at the partner school. Before each mobility, so-called virtual mobility will be held, which will be a new platform for electronic communication between selected pupils who will learn about the outcomes of their chosen educational activity. The school exchange partnership will contribute to the innovation of primary education and training and to the rejuvenation of the teaching of general education subjects in partner schools.
