The UNESCO Passport project was conceived as an idea for exploring, processing and presenting material and intangible heritage topics under UNESCO protection to raise awareness of the social importance of cultural heritage and its preservation in the next generations. The educational system is the starting point for the implementation of education for sustainable development. The importance of cultural heritage is taught, but with not enough emphasis and therefore these projects are an excellent tool for understanding their own cultural potential as a universal value for the individual, community and society that shapes our identity. Also, through the work on the project and the discovery and research of European cultural heritage, the feeling of belonging to a common European space strengthens. In addition, the implementation of project activities will contribute to improving the quality of learning and teaching and in addition to cultural awareness, enhances language, communication, digital, social and civic competencies. To teach key competencies, it is necessary to provide an interactive environment that promotes co-operation and multidisciplinarity in which pupils can engage in practical tasks with the intensive use of technology. Precisely such projects based on the creative application of information and communication technology can be extremely useful for the development of student competences and stimulate the development of competences and auxiliary skills in a way that is interesting and meaningful to learners.
