Project Summary

The purpose of the “Education 4.0” project is to create innovative learning modules based on 3D modeling with augmented reality for the study of the curriculum of subjects from general and specific vocational training in subjects of “Machine Technician”, “Electrical Engineering” and “Technician automation “. The themes are in compliance with the State Educational Requirements and cover educational content on materials and preforms, hydraulics and pneumatics, diagnostics and control, electrical power engineering, educational practice in the specialty – electrical equipment, automation and management of production, training practice in production automation.

The project is implemented in partnership between Vocational High School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Pirdop as Project Co-ordinator, SMC Industrial Automation Bulgaria EOOD, Technicka Skola, Croatia, Perfect Project, Poland and SMC INDUSTRIJSKA AVTOMATIKA d.o.o., Slovenia.

The direct target group of the project consist of VET teachers from professional area “Technology”. The build-up of e-learning content with augmented reality and 3D visualization will help their work and facilitate the practical understanding and learning of learners’ lessons as it will enable virtual simulation of different processes as a result of production commands and by showing the relevant results of these actions. The analysis of these results will help make optimal responses to the various real production situations in the future professional life of the learners.

In addition to the creation of three intellectual products, the project foresees a study visit for teachers in this professional field in Poland, an assessment of the applicability of intellectual products and the organization of events and dissemination activities.

The Education 4.0 project is in line with the ICT implementation strategy for VET education and upgrading of participating countries in the project. The participating countries share common problems with regard to the deficiencies in the teaching of the specialized subjects in the “Technical” field of the field, as well as the insufficient preparedness of the graduates to meet the requirements of the labor market. The project will bring together the experience of the various partners to create a comprehensive overall product that will be tailored to the individual characteristics of the participating country and to the specific needs of the companies in the region.
