Project Summary

The A PART OF EU project, led by the Spanish NGO Solidaridad Sin Fronteras (www.ssf.org.es), together with the partners: GUARANÍ (Spain, http://www.asociacionguarani.com/) UNIONE DEI COMUNI DELLA BASSA ROMAGNA (Italy, http://www.labassaromagna.it/) and UNIVERSITY OF NICOSIA (Cyprus, https://www.unic.ac.cy/), achieved the following objectives:

• Identify and exchange good practices in promoting the social integration of young immigrants through participation.
• Generate a guide to disseminate the good practices identified, so that they can be replicated in other regions of other EU member countries.

The concrete results, developed between November 2017 and October 2018, have a strong innovative component, and are the following:
• A Manual of Good Practices to promote the social integration of migrant youth through participation.
• A new theoretical approach about the participation of migrant youth through different areas of participation.
• A new methodological approach to promote the social inclusion of young migrants through participation.
• Conformation of a European network of stakeholders.
• Creation of the website (https://www.apartofeu.eu/), with the most relevant information about the project and the consortium.

The most tangible result with the greatest exploitation capacity is the Manual of Good Practices for the promotion of the social integration of young migrants through participation. The Manual consists on 42 good practices collected at national, European and international levels, distributed as follows:
1. Social and political participation: 8 good practices.
2. Participation through volunteering: 10 good practices.
3. Participation through culture and sport: 10 good practices
4. Participation through training and job: 8 good practices.
5. Participation through family: 6 good practices

Thanks to the dissemination of good practices and the exploitation of the Manual, an international network of work and national networks of the countries of the consortium partners has been created to ensure the sustainability of the results achieved.

The Manual is being easily exploited in the three countries of the consortium and in the EU. The professionals reached are including in their daily practice those parts of the Manual that they consider most appropriate according to their needs and their professional scope. The fact that the 4 organizations of the consortium work directly with the final recipients has reinforced the use and dissemination of the Manual among their networks.

More than 1,530 people have been reached by the A PART OF EUROPE project, involving mainly staff from social organizations, NGOs, town hall and provincial / regional government officials (mainly from social services), youth, youth policy experts, among others.

The 4 organizations of the project have several years of experience in direct work with migrants, both youth and adults, and are developing projects that can complement the work done in A PART OF EU and benefit from the innovativeness of the project in order to propose better actions. which represents an added value of the project.
