Project Summary

e-VET (English in Vocational and Educational Training) is a project which has aimed at helping subject teachers at VET schools where vocational and business English have heavily taught with the help of cutting-edge and updated teaching methods and strategies involving the latest and mostly-preferred teaching tools such as Kahoot, Wikis, Hot Potatoes, Suggestopedia, Gamification, Flashcard applications and so on. Another objective of e-VET project was to integrate the digitally-supported skills into the current cross-curriculum which consisted of six different modules; Turkey, Electronics / Greece, Mechanics&Automotive / Italy, Food&Beverage / Spain, Finance / Bulgaria, Network / Czech Republic, ICT.
The following members of the consortium were as follows;
Ortakoy with over 800 enrolled students located in the east of the province, Ankara played a critical role in designing and developing the template of the e-VET BOOK which involved 5 selected different units, one unit per partners and also drawing the icons used in the book; in offering logo design course to the attendees; in providing contributions to the e-VET Module by getting the subject teachers to prepare their own classes according to the completed unit “Amplifier” previously by ICT and English teachers and creating the database and software of the module; in developing the e-VET Android Application.
EPAL KAISARIANIS, having the students coming from the families with low-level income and low-level educational background and most of whom are immigrants from neighbouring countries with strong linguistic problems, was in charge of organising the logo design course, collecting logos; providing the necessary contributions to the e-VET Book; performing a huge success in preparing their own modules; supporting the question pool with enriched question types; giving courses and info meetings to the teachers in Athens.
IIS Paolo Baffi İnstitute a state upper secondary school with approximately 1600 students enrolled, did its best to arrange logo design course; complete their own units in the field of Food and Beverage; host an international course material fair in Fuimincio towards to the end of the project; introduce and develop the module platform for those who were interested in seeing new teaching tools; enrich the Android Application with questions, the registered members.
IELM a firm aimed at offering services within the fields of vocational training, intership placements, languages competences and cultural and extra-curricula activities, helped us arrange the logo course with the participation of 30 persons; prepare their own selected unit “Network” for the book; add five different units into the e-VET Module platform under various titles; give contributions to the Android Applications.
London College Dublin Ltd, as a training organization which provides vocational training in 10 professions, in 11 specialties, moved the project one step further all the time by offering valuable contribution from BG VET sector.
Glafka s.r.o shared CZ ICT companies experiences into the hearth of e-VET project with their rich background.
Through e-VET project, we first made a comprehensive literature scanning in order to have clear and precise knowledge about the oft used teaching methods and tools at schools with the help of language teachers and as a result of literature scanning, each partner made a decision about what methods and techniques should be focused on.
Company visits were held during the each transnational meetings to see more closely the conditions of the business sector and some leading companies active at European and international level were introduced to the participants. For instance, AVAST Company at Czech Republic meeting; Hidropol Engineering, Turkey; FIAT Company, Greece; EATALY, Italy.
As a result of e-VET project, we were able to;
– have more target group than we expected with outputs
– keep the level of early-school leaving at minimum level
– have demand and request from the tutors who wished to add their own modules
– reach ever-increasing interest and curiosity to the project, 67 teachers and 308 course materials available in e-VET platform which that figure was low at the beginning.
In addition that, e-VET project was able to produce 4 different outputs; Project Logo and Logo course which was the first activity that we decided the best logo for the project and the target group was offered a logo design course; e-VET BOOK which was the second output that ıt could be used both online and offline course material and it had links with the module and android application; e-VET Module and Android Application.
Android works co-ordinately with the www.e-vet.eu Module and Book, any tutor who wishes to add more questions to the “Question Pool” send questions, so that their students can solve them later. Another section is “Exercises” which is quiz show. You can see the result or how many questions you answered correctly in that section.
