Project Summary

Project Summary

Title : “Between Cultures“
Countries: Romania, Latvia, Turkey
Duration: 1 September 2018 – 31 August 2021

The present project was aimed at students between 16-19 years old, who studied in 2 European schools (in Romania, Latvia) and in a Turkish school next to Ankara, “Yavuz Sultan Selim Fen Lisesi”.

The general objectives were: promotion of key competences (ICT and language competences) in the programme; promotion of equality and inclusion in education through the inclusion of disadvantaged young people in the project; exchange of experience with teachers and recognition of the levels of formal, non-formal and informal education through EU instruments (Mobility Pass).

In the project, we identified 2 categories of participants: direct beneficiaries who formed the Target group and indirect beneficiaries who participated in transnational project activities as organizers, athletes or supervisors of the international groups.

Direct participants were selected on the basis of the entire selection criteria established during the writing of the funding application: openness to learning German languages, personal results in German, tolerance, inclinations, social skills: team spirit, tolerance, friendship.

The number of direct participants comes from 48 people. All participated in local project activities. Disadvantaged students: 27.

Number of participants in C-type project activities varied between 4 -10/ institution according to context. After the withdrawal of Bulgaria and Poland from project and taking over their duties from Romania and Turkey, we found a number between 4 – 8 participants and 2 – 4 accompanying teachers. Following the coronavirus and rejection of C activities in 2021 and 2021, Romania had 10 direct participants in Latvia, August 2021.

They were selected for transnational project activities thanks to their results during local activities. Number of disadvantaged students: 46 / institution for the whole project period.

Total number of disadvantaged pupils 60 (as direct and indirect participants).

Number of indirect participants: 50 / Institution: students, teachers, parents of direct participants, ONGs, etc.

The local activities took place in local schools and had as a purpose preparation of transnational project activities and to fulfill the specific objectives: improvement of linguistic competences (OS 1) through short texts, crosswords, quizzes; improvement of ICT competences (OS 2): logo, blog, platform; formation of awareness among young people through specific readings (OS 3), better general knowledge (OS 4), formation of team spirit through sports and other activities (OS 6).

At the level of LTT we organized the activities like this: 2 Tip C face-to-face in Romania; 1 face-to-face and 1 virtual type C in Turkey; 1 virtual activity Type C and 1 activity face-to-face in Latvia.

A transnational project meeting was a part of our plan. It had as its purpose evaluation of local and transnational activities, preparation of the events of the activities Type C, management issues. Host country: Turkey, Aprilie 2019.

As a result of the implementation of the project, we write for both concrete and abstract results (acquisitions on an abstract level such as the formation of consciousness). The results are in contact with dissemination. In this way, we have realized the following materials : 3 plays, 2 radio plays, 1 project logo, 1 student film, 1 magazine with all project materials, power point materials, 3 exhibitions.
