Project Summary
Learning inside a classroom is the main method of organising schooling. However, teachers and learners value other opportunities for learning that can take place outside the classroom. Through the project we want to discover and increase them using digital outdoor teaching practices and thus provide students with engaging lessons that motivate them to learn.
We plan activities that will increase the teachers’ competences in using outdoor teaching by organizing staff training, exchanging teaching experiences and materials, carrying out learning visits and job shadowing.
We intend to increase the digital literacy among teachers and students by developing and adapting different methods for using ICT in outdoor methodology pedagogical documentation and formative assessment. We are going to involve children with special needs by providing them special developing activities and adapting tools to the students’ particular needs.
Our final products will be use by many educational institutions interested in improving the quality of education.
These will be the curricula for digital outdoor education adjusted to our countries’ national curricula (including a curriculum for teaching children with special needs), in order to incorporate digital outdoor education permanently in different school subjects.
We will create courses that can be used after the project’s lifetime for further training of teachers in both countries, one of them for teachers who teach students with special needs.
We will create an elearning platform for the schools’ teachers and student and an ebook with materials, lesson planning etc. to be disseminated to other schools and interested parties.
Throughout the project’s life time, there will be undertaken dissemination activities in order to spread the knowledge about the project and its progress through Internet. The spreading of the final products will take place at the end of the project, as well as after the project has ended.
We believe that the planned actions provide a unique opportunity for improving the weak points of existing school education and will contribute to improving the quality of education in both regions.
