The project aimed at developing the competences of youth workers in the area of facilitating the Global Learning, free of Eurocentric approach, and focused on real life examples. The objectives of the project:1.To enhance cooperation between youth organizations from different regions of the world engaging young people in global education processes and SDG agenda.2.To improve the quality of youth work and non-formal education among engaged partners addressing global issues.3.Provide mobility opportunities for youth workers and young people to foster their competences and increase their motivation to actively participate in their society, especially focusing on tackling global issues.4.To pilot and disseminate global education practices through real case studies and technological solutions.Summary of the project activities and results:-13 youth workers (7 from Europe and 6 from Africa) had the possibility to participate in 8 job shadowing activities abroad that allowed them to explore the contexts and realities of the partner countries, try out different youth work practices and the role of youth work in addressing SDGs.-19 youth workers participated in an international seminar in Tanzania to explore the role of youth work in tackling global issues and the exchange of good practices of quality global education activities with young people.-205 participants (young people) were engaged in local project activities (local GlobaLab workshops) where they have the possibility to go from learning to action towards global issues. -30 young people had the possibility to participate in an international youth exchange in Lorca (Spain) to share their experience and raise their voice for making people aware of global issues.-An international contest was opened to young people where they could submit their works or examples of action towards global issues.-The results of the project were summarised in the final publication “Global Youth Work. The Stories of GLOBALAB”. It is a collection of stories and case studies that illustrate the importance of international mobility for widening horizons of youth workers and bringing a global perspective to the activities with young people; highlight the importance of global education processes that lead to action at the local level; showcase good practices of the project partners on delivering global education processes and taking action both locally and internationally. The publication was printed in 300 copies and distributed to the project stakeholders in partner countries. It is also available online on the project website www.globalab.org.The project had a positive impact on its main target groups: youth workers, young people and partner organisations:-Youth workers increased understanding of global issues and realities in the Global South that is less stereotypical and patronising, were equipped with new tools, methods and educational approaches for mobilising young people for action and addressing the issues related to SDG agenda. -Young people increased their interest in global issues and understanding of their own identity and responsibility as global citizens, developed a wide range of competences necessary to take action towards specific global issues, strengthened their commitment towards addressing SDGs in their local communities.-The project was a great opportunity for all partner organisations to bring new perspectives, methods, tools and approaches to their work and strengthen cooperation between different countries and continents.
