Project Summary
In the course of this project, students from both Lichtenfelsgymnasium Graz and Sainte Jeanne Elisabeth lycée in Paris will be working on the topic of creativity seen from various angles: creativity as an expression of individual personality and view of the world, creativity serving as a link/connection/bridge in our interaction with our environment, creativity as an important skill in solving imminent issues of the future. Due to its manifold aspects, the topic and therefore the project itself does not only involve language teaching but rather a multitude of school subjects such as music, arts theatre, natural sciences etc. Moreover the subject of “Communication, creativity, and personal development” sall be integrated into the project.
Students should on the one hand discover and develop their own creativity and, on the other hand develop an understanding of creativity in research as a means of tackling and solving issues of the future. A two-year project based intercultural co-operation is supposed to encourage the exchange of ideas on important issues of our times, such as sustainability, cultural variety, alternative concepts of behaviour… The topics will be intensively dealt with in workshops, excursions, discussions, interviews, exhibitions and two exchange programmes, virtually and from various angles .Respectively 25 students in year 10 of each school will form a team and will be accompanied by their teachers. Besides the students’ exchange a work and study mobility of three teachers from Graz together with their head/principal will take place, in order to evaluate the results of the projects.
This project will offer a long-term benefit in several ways: to improve the knowledge of foreign languages, to experience cultural variety and to reinforce consciousness for a unified Europe, to develop students’ own skills and abilities, to discover creative solutions in science and last but not least to establish contact with partner students and their families, which might well last way beyond the project period.
