Project Summary

Liceo Pascasino of Marsala (Italy) is the school coordinator of RRR project.
The partners schools are
-Escola Básica e Secundária de Santa Cruz, in Madeira (Portugal)
-Collège Aimé Césaire, in Etang Sale, La Reunion (France)
-1st EPAL of PSACHNA inDIrfys Messapion, Evia island (Greece).
4 schools are set in islands.

The project will be focused on Sustainable Goals, in particular “Energy and resources”, “Health and wellbeing”, also considering the importance of “ICT – new technologies – digital competences”.
The most relevant horizontal priority is “Environmental and climate Goals”, but also “Sustainable investment, quality and efficiency of education, training and youth systems”, in order to make signs at schools and at home, at our territories, to urge others to take action, to engage students in pollution experiments.
The SDGs we will focus on are

7 Affordable and Clean Energy
8 Decent Work and Economic Growth
9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
11 Sustainable Cities and Communities
12 Responsible Consumption and Production
13 Climate Action
14 Life Below Water
15 Life on Land

The main objectives we would like to achieve and concrete results we would like to produce are
-personal and public awareness of environmental issues, including the benefit of reducing, re-using and recycling of materials
-to increase the number of students involved in recycling in our islands
-to provide an effective voice and focal point for our communities recycling
-to work towards a shared zero waste future
-to increase education relating to REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE
-to minimize environmental impact
-to learn about citizenship competencies and the ability to act as responsible citizens and fully participate in civic and social life
-to use creativity, critical thinking and problem solving to work collaboratively and transform ideas on the planet’s protection into action.

Environmental education is a process aimed at improving the quality of life by empowering people with the tools they need to solve and prevent environmental problems. Environmental education can help people gain the knowledge, skills, motivation, values, and commitment they’ll need to manage the earth’s resources sustainably and to take responsibility for maintaining environmental quality.
We can define Sustainability as the practice of meeting the needs of the current generation without degrading and destroying the natural resources: water, soil, biodiversity, oil, minerals and natural services as flood control, air purification, pollination.
Future generations will need it.
Our lives and economies are dependent on natural capital, which is made up of these natural resources and natural services, and the energy provided by the sun.
There are so many easy ways to become more sustainable.
We are all creatures of habit, and changing our behavior takes some time.
As educators, small steps can be shown in order to find solutions and to make a positive difference in protecting our environment for our communities and your planet.
We would take care of sustainable beaches and waterways, building and develolpment, energy and resources, landscapes, mobility and transportation, waste reduction and recycling, water and wildlife in our islands!.

The project will accomplish its objectives by conducting activities in 5 main areas:

1- Project management that includes observing and assessment, risk management, financial management, cooperation and communication strategy that will be exercised for the whole duration of the project.

2- Implementation of activities throught the selection of participants, preparatory training sessions, participation in exchanges.

3- Elaboration of lessons, videos, practical activities, interviews, tasks, exercises, educational games, multimedia presentations, interactive maps, online quizzes, online collaborative groups, interactive images with music, sounds, texts, and photographs, learning methodologies that awaken the curiosity of students through interactive contents that can expand their knowledge, storytelling, interactive and artistic books, audiovisual contents about Sustainability Goals.
Also, we will use different tools and software to realize our activities, video presentations, posters, brochures, cards, advertising manifestos, interviews, questionarries, digital story tellings, excercises, educational games:
