Project Summary

The project has been to create a tool and methodology to promote the training in hazard prevention and occupational health both of people affected by ASD (autism spectrum disorders), and of those professionals who directly or indirectly participate in the training professional and labor integration of this group (teachers specialized in ASD, occupational risk prevention agents, persons in charge of formation in companies, etc.).

STOP! ASD HAZARDS provides the opportunity to improve the work preparation of the ASD collective through innovative training that on the one hand improves their occupational health, and on the other prevents occupational hazards in 5 type activities in which the ASD collective is usually integrated.

It is intended to improve and expand the offer of high quality learning opportunities that are adapted to the individual needs of adults with ASD, so that once they are incorporated into a job, they know the labor risks inherent in the tasks, as well as preventing possible accidents and taking care of their own occupational health.

To achieve the objectives of the project, training contents have been designed for the prevention of occupational hazards of the ASD collective through games, promoting self-learning. An educational platform has been created to integrate both local and regional stakeholders as well as people with ASD, promoting transnational knowledge exchange networks linked to the objectives of the project at the training and research levels.

The target groups of the project, all of them directly or indirectly participating in the problems of this group, have been the following:
o Teachers specialized in training of the ASD collective
o Associations and Federations linked to the ASD collective
  o Local / regional governments
  o Vocational training centers
  o Occupational risk prevention agents
  o Psychologists and Psychiatrists
  o Responsible for business training
  o Business associations
  o Occupational workshops
o NGOs linked to disadvantaged groups
o Special Education colleges and centers

The main impact of the project on the target group is a greater awareness of the problems of this group in relation to their socio-labor integration and an improvement in the skills of people with ASD, regarding the necessary knowledge about occupational hazards in their job position and their occupational health care.

These goals pursued by the project have materialized with the collaboration of the networks of stakeholders and with the adequate dissemination of the training content developed by STOP! ASD HAZARDS, in addition to the correct execution of the objectives.

International meetings, local seminars and interviews with stakeholders have been held in order to achieve the results pursued by this project. On the other hand, the following intellectual products have been developed:
1.- REPORT: SELECTION OF 5 ACTIVITIES AND KEY POSITIONS IN WHICH PEOPLE WITH ASD CAN DEVELOP THEIR LABOR ACTIVITY. RISK AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH ANALYSIS
2.- METHODOLOGICAL MANUAL: CONFORMATION OF TRAINING METHODOLOGY FOR THE CORRECT TRAINING AND TRAINING OF THE ASD COLLECTIVE
3.- TRAINING CONTENTS FOR THE OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS PREVENTION AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH OF THE ASD COLLECTIVE
4.- MANUAL OF GOOD PRACTICES FOR THE OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS PREVENTION AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH OF PEOPLE WITH ASD
5.- DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PLATFORM AND LEARNING GAMES

The transnationality of the project has been essential to provide useful information and ideas for the design and implementation of activities. The creation of an international and multidisciplinary consortium with experience has been essential to enrich the project and to achieve the scope and quality of the results.
