Project Summary

The Project Water – A Task for Environmental Responsibility (WATER) is directed to students in schools in Poland, Spain and France. The subject matter of the project is included in the core curriculum and is coherent with the European Schools Development Plans. Its implementation meets the expectations of the market, where sustainable development of water, knowledge of foreign languages, innovative technologies are important. The project involves cooperation of our school in Poland with a school in Spain which has a similar educational profile and the Eco-school in France. There are 3 students’ trips planned (April 2021, September 2021, April 2022) for 2 groups – 18 students + 2 teachers each and two teacher trips planned (March 2021, May 2022) The students will be selected during the recruitment process conducted by recruitment committees at schools. The rules, dates and recruitment criteria will be disclosed to the public. The recruitment criteria will include a test verifying knowledge of English language as well as the knowledge of cultural and environmental issues. It will also measure students’ motivation to participate in the project together with the awarness level regarding the water stress in the world. The students who will qualify to participate in the project will be involved at each stage of its implementation. At the stage of preparation they will take part in some activities in their schools which will be shared on eTwinning space and facebook. During this stage, they will work in international groups on different tasks concerning the water stress in the world, sustainable water development and river courses typical for each school’s area. They will recognise the economical, environmental and political impact of water in their countries and compare their data with other schools. During this stage important materials for further use during mobilities will be prepared, such as presentations in English, a glossary of terms associated with the subject, picture galleries and films. What is also important, during this stage our students will get to know each other and therefore the relationship among them will be established before the meeting in the real world.
Each school will have play a different equally important role in the project. The French school which is the Eco-school will teach us how to be a school which is eco-conscious and eco-friendly and will share the knowledge with reference to obtain the eco label. The Polish school will focus on the subject of prevention – what can still be done to reduce the water stress in the world. Therefore matters connected with how to improve water quality, increasing water-use efficiency, and restoring water-related ecosystems will be covered. The Spanish school, which is situated in a coastal area will deal with matters concerning marine water which is integrated and essential component of the Earth’s ecosystem and is critical to sustainable development. Over three billion people depend on marine and coastal resources for their livelihoods. Oceans and seas are also the primary regulator of the global climate and host huge reservoirs of biodiversity.
During the periods prior to specific mobilities all students will work on preapartory tasks, including studying water consumption, researching and analysing of agricultural irrigation, gathering information on local and national policies regarding water usage and management, organising a plastic bottle campaign, etc. They will improve their language and ICT skills.
During the mobilities they will go on trips and take part in workshops and have meetings at schools. The purpose of each activity will be the team integration, gathering information, sharing experiences and knowledge, and raising awareness level of the role and opportunities of sustainable water development. The results of all the workshops and meetings will be developed final products in the form of videos, posters, presentations, leaflets and a guidebook. The evaluation of the project will be carried out at every stage by tests and surveys. After completing the mobility, the participants will share their experiences and products. By participating in the project, students and teachers will be able to use their potential, skills and knowledge to prepare conferences for their classmates and colleagues.
After taking part in two mobilities in France and in Poland the teachers will get to know the methods of general and vocational teaching.
The teachers’ participation in the project will also make them aware of the possibilities of doing changes in educational system by learning from other school systems, learning by international project, learning by experience sharing.
The projects final products will be …
