The project consortium is made of 6 schools from 6 different European countries,all of them interested in growing students`Social and Emotional Learning through means of a European partnership,meant to instill a certain sense of involvement,participation and internationalization of school experiences.They are deeply involved in the community life and interested in their development and growth,intended to become regional centres for SEL.All the partner schools are located in small to medium local communities,where the need to integrate ss in a culture of wellbeing and social collaboration among individuals is absolutely essential.
The project aims to achieve the following objectives:
– to improve the level of SEL competencies of 1510 ss with ages between 12 and 15 years and 150 school staff from 6 schools, through 6 sets of complex transnational and cross-curricular activities, during 24 months;
– to develop the socio-cultural resilience of 210 ss with ages between 12 and 15 years from 6 schools who come from disadvantaged socio-cultural backgrounds, through 6 sets of specific growing potential activities, during 24 months;
– to enhance the interest and involvement in Mental and Emotional Intelligence issues of 1510 ss between 12 and 15 years old and 100 teachers and school counselors from 6 schools, through 6 sets of complex transnational and cross-curricular activities, during 24 months;
– to promote self-awareness, self-management, social-awareness and responsible decision-making skills of 1510 ss with ages between 12 and 15 years, from 6 schools,
– to empower 1300 ss interested in volunteering from the 6 local school communities represented in the project consortium with skills that will help them develop their community, gain confidence and build a real sense of achievement.
A total of 1510 students(210 come from disadvantaged groups,1300 are interested in taking part in the volunteering activities) and 150 school staff (teachers, managers, administrative staff, school counsellors) from all the participating schools will be involved in the project activities as direct beneficiaries.The ss in the target group belong to the 12 to 15 year old category.
Each participating school will be equally involved in organizing and managing 6 learning, teaching and training activities and 10 project events and tasks. The learning objectives of the SEL program will be achieved and supported through the resources and means provided by the learning activities in each participating school –during the LTT meetings.
There are numerous ways in which learning activities can be integrated in the SEL program. Games, as a form of cooperative, experience-based learning, appear to be highly motivating to students. Using learning activities such as games, psychodrama, role-plays, simulations, outdoor and sporting activities, team-building games, therapeutic board games,etc. are only a few of the methods meant to the successful accomplishment of the project objectives.
Each school will host a LTT meeting with a specific concept and delivery patterns, focused on: team building, split working, gaming, drama, cooperation and outdoor activities. Partners will access the E-Twinning platform as means for running online project activities, dissemination of project results and the assurance of the sustainability of the project. They will communicate through email, whatsapp and Google drive, following a commonly agreed procedure and using a tool kit of evidences provided by the Romanian coordinator team (project logo, poster and roll-up, templates of list of attendance, certificates , etc.). They will set a project panel exhibiting the most relevant products of the project (posters, up-to-date news, products, main actors, stakeholders, events, etc).
Sustainability of the SEL project will be provided by:The Club SEL The Caravan SEL,the Social Animator Guide and Toolkit.Each school participating in the project will mark through specific activities some important events, such as: May 9th – Europe Day – making electronic greetings within the Club SEL; the European Day of School Sport;International Peace Day;The International Friendship Day ;The World Smile Day.
