Project Summary

This is a project of gastronomic Czech and Slovak schools which focuses on development of international cooperation in vocational education that aim is to highlight strengths of both schools and use them for their mutual transfer through project activities.Good practice will therefore be exchanged,focusing on the following objectives:
-strengthen position/prestige of schools and their competitiveness among educational institutions in regions by promoting pupils´and teachers´professional competences and strengthening pupils´competitiveness in culinary competitions
-improve key competences of pupils/teachers by passing on good examples from educational process,from practice of both schools focusing on vocational training in gastronomic disciplines(Cook,Waiter) and tourism related services(Hotel management)
-to strengthen common European gastronomic heritage,knowledge of culinary traditions and their mutual transfer and knowledge of cultural environment
-transfer of experience in international cooperation opportunities
-to enhance international cooperation.
Achievement of above objectives is accompanied by strengthening of competences,skills and knowledge of school staff who will participate directly/indirectly in project activities.Planned activities and actions will ensure achievement of objectives related to professional/personal development of pupils and strengthening their competences,skills and knowledge.Project activities including international Learning,teaching and training activities(6 mobilities for pupils,4 mobilities for staff) will be attended directly by 30 pupils/8 employees in each school.
Competences for both target groups will be strengthened:
-development of ability to work in groups,communicate/solve problems in a team/multicultural context,development of creativity applied in professional skills and in intercultural connection
-strengthen civic/social competences linked to development of values of inclusion in European citizenship,perceiving the importance of international cooperation
-development of professional vacational competences,by pupils related to strengthening professional competencies necessary to strengthen their position on the labor market as future operators or employees of gastronomic and tourism services
-development of digital abilities related to communication and creation of multimedia project results and development of linguistic knowledge-searching for similarities and differences of professional terminology.
Project activities will enable realization of concrete results that will be shared inside and outside schools,not only through the use of eTwinning platform which will allow development of digital competencies by creating multimedia materials and strengthening competencies in use of programs/applications:
-exploring using traditional national and regional dishes in gastronomic services of regions
-presentation of traditional regional dishes and products,mutual acquaintance with gastronomic traditions
-realization of multimedia materials:about local dishes,traditional regional recipes in order to know culinary traditions,about local cultural environment for fields of education Hotel management.
Project activities will support pupils´and employees´professional competences,skills and knowledge:
-recognition of regional culinary traditions,gaining new knowledge about technological process of food preparation and regional cuisine
-acquaintance with traditional and modern trends of food preparation and with trends of aesthetic serving and decorating dishes using vegetable or other decorations
-strengthening competencies in preparation of hot/cold drinks and serving them in baristic,bartender and sommelier fields in which pupils will pass practical training and educators will learn how to practically strengthen pupils´chances in professional competitions.
The project will include activities to strengthen social,civic competences and cultural awareness:
-in acquainting with local cultural traditions/cultural environment which pupils mediate under guidance of their teachers to foreign partners in connection with strengthening professional competencies in fields of tourism services
-strengthening knowledge of one’s own cultural identity and positive attitude to tolerance other identities,strengthening interest in events in other countries and awareness of European belonging
-collective/team work and responsibility for fulfilling specific tasks by preparation and running of project activities will be strengthened thanks to activities taking place in a multicultural context and international cooperation
Wide involvement of school communities in activities(not only to student exchanges) throughout project period will ensure sharing of topics discussed and acquiring skills/knowledge to more students and teachers(not just mobility participants) due to their participating in discussions/activities in partner schools.The aim is therefore a real transfer of project results.
