Project Summary
This association for the exchange of good practices between schools in Spain, Portugal and Italy aims to consolidate an international cooperation network with the aim of developing, transferring and implementing initiatives in the four schools during the 2020-2021 academic school year related to school health and healthy lifestyles.
The project arises from the need to provide tools to students related to health and well-being to deal individually and collectively with the health crisis caused by COVID-19.
The entire educational community will participate in the project: 1600 students between 3 and 16 years old (25% belonging to disadvantaged environments and/or special educational needs), teachers, families, volunteers and local institutions.
The objectives of the project are:
O.1. To Promote students physical activity.
O.2. To Promote healthy eating habits.
O.3 To Promote mental health, emotional intelligence and well-being.
O.4 To Promote body care, hygiene and prevent the appearance of diseases.
O.5. To Promote health environment.
Short, medium and long term, the expected results are:
R.1. Improvement of the physical condition of the students by increasing the intensity and frequency of physical exercise.
R.2. Decreased rate of childhood overweight and hormonal imbalances among child population.
R.3. Improvement of personal well-being through the development of emotional and interpersonal skills. Improve school coexistence.
R.4. Decrease of diseases by increasing personal hygiene habits and disease prevention.
R.5. Protection of the environment through increased care and protection of the environment.
In the long term, we hope to contribute to developing the key competences in students, improve the quality of education, compensate for the inequalities of the most disadvantaged groups, and reduce early school dropout.
To achieve this objective we propose:
-To Strengthen the teaching profile of approximately 100 teachers through training courses locally and online.
-To Carry out 3 student exchange activities (84 students from 11 to 14 years old) where they will work together in international contexts on activities related to health and well-being using innovative methodologies.
-To Strengthen family participation and collaboration with local institutions.
The project includes a wide range of preparation, development, evaluation and dissemination activities aimed at students, teachers, managers, educational community (family and volunteers) and including local educational authorities.
We will use the eTwinning platform to create an eTwinning project related to this Erasmus + project, carry out training activities and virtual activities for both students and teachers.
Tasks and responsibilities for each partner have been distributed in a balanced way, respecting partners strengths and competences. Each partner has assigned tasks in order to implement the management, training, monitoring, financial, evaluation and impact, dissemination and sustainability plans of the project.
The cooperation and communication between the partners will be carried out using different tools such Webex platform for videoconferences and shared drive to send documentation and cooperative online work. We will evaluate the project in its different phases using surveys, self-analyzes of teaching practices, observation scales, checklists and an evaluation matrix with quantitative and qualitative indicators.
The results of the project will be shared at local, regional, national and international levels with the objective of reaching as many people as possible. The usual dissemination channels will be the school websites, social networks, Town Halls websites, local press, Erasmus + Results Platform and eTwinning platform.
To guarantee the sustainability of the project, all schools must incorporate the project’s objectives in relation to the promotion of the comprehensive health of students in the official documents (educational project, different specific plans, etc.). This documentation must be approved by consensus both by the faculty and by the school council.
In the long term we hope to strengthen international cooperation networks to work together with the purpose that our students develop a healthy lifestyle that remain over time promoting social well-being and a life higher quality, contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and specifically SDG 3 dedicated to Health and Well-being.
