Project Summary

◗ The project concerns the 42 French students from a Costarmorican school born in 2005-2006 and the 34 Danish students, aged 14 to 16, with various socio-economic, cognitive and educational profiles . On the basis of an exchange of good practices, it is a question of accompanying our respective pupils towards a better knowledge of themselves in their emotional functioning, essential factor of an effective learning. Learning to welcome, to know, to decipher what emotions are saying is for our pupils a way of refocusing their school path in the construction of their personality in a more global way. Thus we will be able to allow them to focus their learning on what they are deep inside.

◗The GOOD VIBES project is therefore based on the consideration of emotions in the learning process of students and aims to make ALL of them succeed beyond determinism by working on:

1 / their personal fulfillment: motivation and surpassing oneself, going beyond one’s apprehensions
2 / taking into account emotional skills: recognition and taking into account emotions in the learning process and in everyday life
3 / The development of social skills: collaborate, cooperate, work with each other, argue, accept disagreement
4 / The development of linguistic and intercultural skills: the discovery of the other one and the acceptance of its differences, in order to have a better tolerance to oneself and to be better integrated in a globalized and open space.

◗ Throughout these two years, through ICT and the use of two languages (English / French), students will be required to carry out different activities,
– to get to know each other better and to know each other
– to develop artistic skills (Good Vibes logo, singing, Talent Day), sports skills (zumba) intercultural and emotional skills (what are the emotions felt, and how can I use them in my learning?)
– to develop social skills (collaboration, cooperation, organization of events, taking initiatives and decisions …)
– to feel better in one’s environment ( at school and out-of-school). For example the TALENT DAY will allow students to discover their hidden talents and flourish in a field little that is highlighted in schooling. The relationship to nature is also a way to develop the well-being of each participant.
Keeping a log book will allow them to keep track of activities carried out and their emotional state (before, during and after) as well as the memories collected during the mobilities.

◗Two mobilities will take place in spring 2020 and autumn 2020 to:
– to concretize the activities, the theoretical knowledge and to give meaning to the learning
– to bring alive the work developed on emotions by coming into contact with the other in an unknown territory
– to enrich oneself personally and professionally
– contribute to the school drop-in by aiming for a renewed motivation and the development of self-confidence and in the other (the partner and the teacher who is seen differently during the mobilities)

◗ At the end of the project, a day will be specifically dedicated, in each establishment, to take stock of all the benefits provided, in the form of exhibitions made by students to other students in the institutions and territories concerned and also for parents and local officials. These events will be widely disseminated by the press or through the websites of each institution.

◗The objective is to develop students’ confidence to overcome their apprehensions, their fear of the unknown, to go towards the other by going beyond their assumptions and stereotypes.
We want students to learn to go beyond their comfort zone to broaden their horizons and follow their dreams. Restoring ambition and self-esteem is one of the keys to academic success.
This project will also allow teams to reflect on the place of alternative spaces to work. A school where you feel good is a school where you learn well. The fulfillment of all (pupils and teachers) will contribute to a better school climate.

◗This cultural and European openness that will certainly have an impact on the well-being and the relation to others, all chances of becoming permanent in the future years, by co-constructing interdisciplinary projects on the sport or the environment, by example, which are transversal and European themes.
