Project Summary

The project started after discussions with teachers that showed the following:
– most students do not understand the reason of learning and fail to integrate learning into their long-term training; the self-education mechanism is triggered with difficulty and delay
– Misunderstanding of the subject from weaker students and capping knowledge for those capable of performance because most cadres teach matter at medium level
– Low level of understanding of the European context of education and little knowledge about the culture of other countries
Following discussions with potential European partners through the eTwinning platform, we have found that they also have the same needs and we can help each other. Together we have formulated the following objectives for this project:
-At students’ level:
–O1 Prepare learners for self-education
–O2 Improving Key Competencies
–O3 Affirmation of self identity in a European context
-At teachers’ level:
–O4 Proffesional training through the exchange of experience
–O5 Developing the European dimension of the educational act
-At school level:
–O6 Increasing the European dimension of the school
–O7 Improving the quality of education provided by partner schools
This project will include:
– The target group of pupils (20-22 pupils/school) and other pupils of 12-14 years, coming from different backgrounds. Everyone will have equal chances, but the students with fewer opportinities will be especially encouraged.
-teachers from all curricular areas
-persons from the community who will offer logistic support or participate in activities
-Persons from other schools in the region who will participate in dissemination activities and will include the results in their pedagogical practice; join extracurricular activities
-Participants from stakeholders
Some of the project activities will be integrated into the school curriculum. These refer to different teaching methods: experiments, game play, dramatization, projects, role play, digital media, CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning).
Other activities will be extra-curricular: thematic visits, modeling, meetings with experts in various fields and with former graduates, cultural performances. At the end of each activity, discussions will take place so students can reflect on the knowledge and skills learned and to integrate it into their future training.
The project implementation methodology will include:
– Establishing the project team and assigning responsibilities
-Signing partnership agreements between the coordinator and the partners
-Elaborating of the Gant diagram of the activities and plans that will ensure the quality implementation of the project
-Elaboration of a set of sustainability measures after the end of financial support
Intangible results refer to the improvement of:
-the teacher’s knowledge about educational systems and teaching methods; knowledge of the students in the disciplines addressed in the project
-the learners’ abilities related to ”learning to learn” (digital, social, teamwork etc.); responsibility in carrying out tasks for students;
-students’ attitudes towards learning; teachers’ opening up to European partnerships;
Tangible results are:
-Materials for promotion and dissemination, brochures
– A film selection based on pupils’ scenarios
-Exposition of layouts
-The album of the thematic tour
-A trans-disciplinary documentary file on “Europe-my home”
-Journal of the project
-Methodological guide that will include methods of teaching-learning-evaluation (theoretical aspects, lesson plans and practical examples) for disciplines from all curricular areas and trans-disciplinary lessons.
Due to the wide range of methods and activities of the project, we anticipate:
-Impact on pupils, especially on the target group:
–could communicate and socialize more easily with people from other European countries
–will begin to actively participate in their own education
–will be better trained
-Impact on participating teachers:
–know how to use more teaching methods, include European references in lessons and how to design and teach cross-curricular lessons
–will intend to participate in new European projects
-Impact on school:
–raising the European dimension and the reputation of the school
In the long term, we anticipate the following impact:
-At school level:
–the quality of education offered by partner schools will be improved
–Strategic plans for European development and school for the future will be improved
–raising the prestige of the school
-At regional level:
–Improving collaboration with senior management forums and other schools in the region and stakeholders
-European level:
–example of good practice in the education provided by our schools in the European context
–Establishing new networks with European partners
–Improving the quality of European projects implemented by partner schools in the future
