Project Summary

The “Ecolife” project is to be implemented by two partner schools: Polish and Hungarian. The goal of the project is social inclusion. The implementation of the “Ecolife” project is to arouse in our pupils, their families, school employees and their families and the local community a sense of responsibility for the environment in which we live. We want all these groups to understand how important it is to segregate waste, what the consequences of improper waste segregation bring, what benefits we get while living in a clean, unpolluted environment. In addition, the project will support people participating in it in acquiring and improving basic skills and key competences. So what will the project participants learn? They will surely acquire the ability to learn, and thus they will achieve the basics of critical thinking, understanding, curiosity, and develop the skill of creative thinking. They will learn responsibility for themselves, for others, for group cooperation, for compromise. Work on the implementation of the project will certainly trigger empowerment and entrepreneurship in many people. Cooperation with peers from another country will allow them to open up to new cultures, teach them acceptance, understanding and tolerance.
As part of the project, students learn about each other, their families, their interests, and the environment in which they live. Everyone will work on the basis of surveys and surveys that were conducted in each of the countries by the coordinators of the project and on the basis of water and air purity tests carried out in places of residence. The project will be attended directly by 90 students aged 10 – 12 (45 from each partner school) and 30 school employees (15 from each institution). The subject of the project is to gain ecological awareness. Step by step, our students will learn about the causes of environmental pollution. We will make them aware that not only factories, industrial plants or cars pollute the air and that acid rain is not only the result of the above-mentioned We will make them aware that all inhabitants of the Earth, including children, their parents and school staff, affect the purity of the air. The way to add to your contribution to environmental protection is the skillful segregation of waste. Since not all families segregate waste, we want our students to learn how to do it properly so that they are not dangerous to the environment. In the second part of the project, we will make the participants aware that polluted water, air or soil have a direct impact on the pollution of consumed agricultural products. Children will learn how to properly cultivate, how to properly feed, use water resources and manage food so that it is fully used.
To facilitate the implementation of the project, we want a “green hall” to be created at each partner school. It is a kind of classroom located outside in the school area. Thanks to the funding, the rooms will be covered and will be equipped with tables and benches. In the halls there will be nature / biology lessons and educational hours. Within the “green hall” (outside the roof), our students will have the opportunity to prepare beds for growing organic vegetables. The Eco-festival will be the summary of the project during mobility in Poland. During the implementation of tasks, various forms of cooperation will be used. We will use research methods (water purity measurement, surveys), activating methods (brainstorming, projects, discussions, drama), independent and group work. The main language of the project will be English so that children, their families, teachers will have the opportunity to develop their language skills. All activities carried out under the project will contribute to the growth and activity of students and teachers who will become more open to new acquaintances and acquire innovative abilities necessary for them in their next life. The project will build completely new relationships among all those involved in it, also from outside the school environment. The active form of cooperation between different nationalities will keep our contact after the end of the program. In addition, children participating in the project will have the opportunity to visit various places in their countries, as well as abroad. The implementation of the program will improve the educational conditions of both schools, as well as contribute to the promotion of schools in local communities and to EU promotion.
Dissemination of the so-called Good practices will help reduce educational differences. All ongoing discussions and workshops organized as part of the project will raise the qualifications of teachers. After the program ends, teachers and students will stay in touch.
