Project Summary

The project is focused on adult education and lifelong learning excluding discrimination barriers and obstacles through educational and training provision. The importance on creating, developing and enhancing knowledge, skills, competencies and capacity to disadvantaged and marginalized groups such as migrants the main goal of the project.

The project targets migrant entrepreneurial capacity building targeting migrants and refugees that wish to start up a business. Additionally, the project involves migrant entrepreneurs that have enstrablished a business which is at stake of bankruptcy having their business running for three years. Inspired and based on the EASME programme “Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs” as one of the most popular and successful initiatives of the European Union, experienced entrepreneurs are considered those who already run their business for more than three years. Prior to this, entrepreneurial initiatives are considered to be at an early stage and in potential need for support. Finally, stakeholders and policy makers are to be involved in this project too as an indirect target group since the rapidly evolving entrepreneurial world in alliance with the project direct target groups are correlated to a great extent.

The present project focuses on assessing the existing skills and capacities of these target groups providing a personalized training path that is based on their individual needs and learning “gaps” which need to be enhanced. Furthemore, personilized training paths based on preferences and personal assessment are to be provided. This innovative method of training is based on distance learning providing the opportunity of engagement through modular or part-time learning. The mentoring parameter is inserted so as to guide and provide added value to the enhancement and empowerment of the target group.

The project will involve at least 140 participants in the above described activities. Migrants and refugees that wish to run a business, migrants that have established enterprises and stakeholders as well as policy makers regional authorities, municipalities, universities etc.) are among this target. The key point is that evaluation will be an ongoing process targeting at least 90% of satisfaction ensuring the high end and appropriateness of the expected results. The project revolves around four Intellectual Outputs with various sub actions to be undertaken. The project National Case Studies (invlolving 3 focus groups, legal entrepreneurial frameworks and the final guidebook among others), the certified training programme (IO2) with e learning training on modular on part time provision to the tailored and customized needs, the IO3 Career Kit empowering the target groups and the Online Social Tool working as an interactive space as well as hosting all outputs and working as a powerful training tool are the main outcomes of the project. The interactive character of the project promotes and invites all interested parties from the target group to explore and benefit from the FAMET results.

It is expected that the impact of the project will be significant at all levels. Local, regional and national levels will be impacted by the
dissemination activities performed by partners in their regions and countries. European and International level will be impacted by collaborative or organizational actions too.
