Project Summary
Our agreed title for the project is “The Power of Wisdom”. Contained within the title is the partnership’s aim to challenge our schools to create opportunities for active learning. We also wanted the title to encourage us to think, in the widest sense, about new methods, strategies and pedagogical approaches that would support us in engaging our students in learning and after-school activities.
We have decided upon the main priorities of our project:
– Cultural heritage;
– ICT – new technologies – digital competences;
– Quality Improvement Institutions and/or methods (incl. school development).
The schools are constantly looking for changes, hence we need new methods, experiences, new cooperation, which helps to improve the quality of education and develop the personality ready to deal with life changes. The main objectives of the project are:
– Use of Information technology to increase the efficiency and quality of education process;
– Change teaching / learning practice to make the use of information technology in the educational process meaningful;
– Knowledge of European cultural, historical and natural heritage through digital technologies;
– Dissemination of existing experiences in the field of digital technologies and new knowledge and skills.
5 schools from Lithuania, Latvia, Italy, Greece and Portugal are the partners of this project.
The variety of digital tools and platforms used during the project will improve learning outcomes and increase students’ motivation. Teachers and parents understand the purpose and purposeful use of modern technologies to encourage pupils’ interest in teaching content. The project will enable teachers from partner countries to gain more practice and experience and use new innovative methods of teaching in their classrooms. Routes across European countries will be created.
An e- methodological booklet of instructions how to use and how to achieve best results in class using the digital tools mentioned above will be issued. During the project, the participants will have the opportunity to test all the digital tools offered. The trainings will take place in all partner schools involved in the project.
In this age, digital technology is increasingly affecting public life. Digital technologies will be used to promote Europe’s cultural, historical, and natural heritage. The following methods will be used to present the heritage: interactive routes, cognitive city pages, virtual 3D object restoration, created databases. The aim will be to attract as much attention as possible to the endangered heritage or to further promote existing objects to survive for future generations. It is hoped that this heritage will remain much longer in the digital space. All the partner schools will organize activities how to know European cultural and historical heritage using digital tools, will present innovative digital practices. Each partner school is responsible for organizing teaching/learning activities. Latvia will host the 1st meeting for teachers. The 2nd teaching’learning event for teachers and students will be held in Italy. The 3rd meeting will be held in Portugal. Greece will host the 4th meeting and the coordinating school Kruonis Gymnasium, Lithuania will host the last meeting.
Each partner school will organize workshops to share experience gained during teaching/learning meetings, each partner will present e-material about digital tools they use. Lithuania will be responsible for issuing an e-methodical publication to be shared among schools in all the partner countries and all around Europe.
The project will start with project logo competition and Lithuania is responsible for it. Each institution will organize dissemination of each partner meeting on school website, local media. The experience and results of the project will be presented to all schools in the area and also at national level. At the end of the project each school will disseminate project results in national newspapers, radio and TV, on social media, organize national conferences and eTwinning webinars.
Cooperation and communication between meetings will be carried out via various means – Google documents – for exchanging information and ideas and information filling in the application form, as well as e-mail, Facebook group, RealtimeBoard (endless online whiteboard for team collaboration), Padlet and eTwinning platform Twin Space. Twitter will be used to create project teacher networks and later on all the like-minded teachers in participating countries will be connected to share experiences and innovative practices.
