Project Summary

CONTEXT
The starting point of our project is to bring together different languages and cultures with our partnership of 6 European countries to reduce the negative bias and stereotyping of differences as a member of the European family and thus to gain a multicultural and multi-dimensional understanding. In the observations and interviews of our guidance service in our institution, we have observed that our students may feed negative attitudes, stereotypes and prejudices because they haven’t recognized people from different cultures. For this reason, we have started a project with Greece, our founding partner through eTwinning platform, in order for our students to see different cultures in place and our teachers to share their culture, knowledge and experiences with international schools, and we have met with our other partners for the same purpose.
The innovative aspect of our project is that while sharing cultural elements (language, traditional meals, folk dances, dances, music, children’s games, UNESCO cultural heritage) with our partners, we will enrich our activities with the methodology supported by the European Commission (content and language integrated learning). Thus, we will contribute to the development of language skills in addition to raising awareness of CLIL methodology and cultures.

OBJECTIVES
Envisioned Objectives:
1.To develop multi-cultural understanding and acceptance by recognising the cultural values and UNESCO cultural heritage of each of the partner countries (at least 55 percent of the participants will have a wider knowledge of other cultures)
2.Cooperation with different schools of Europe to see cultural diversity in place and develop a sense of belonging to the European family; (at least 30 points will improve positively in the attitudes of participants towards other cultures)
3.Develop ICT and language skills with international activities (approximately 65% of participants will develop digital and language skills)
4.To promote early language learning awareness and multilingualism by integrating CLIL methodology into content to promote a comprehensive approach to Language Teaching and learning

NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS
Our project consists of six common schools and 108 teachers with 54 students aged between 11 and 16 will benefit directly from our project. The number of students who will benefit indirectly is 4062 and the number of teachers is 395. In our project, priority will be given to students coming from families with low socio-economic level to support students with fewer opportunities and students with lower social intelligence and different cultural backgrounds.
