Project Summary

Model United Nations is an education activity which draws more and more attention all over the world as it is getting easier to reach the information thanks to the development and variety of communication tools. By digitalization, interest towards this activity has risen dramatically. We see MUN as a student-centred activity. We think that quality and efficiency in education will only be possible by including students in the process.
Our project aims to gather students from different social economical lives who want to improve themselves and care about the world’s problems and to make them discuss these issues and by this way, to teach them team work, self-confidence, critical thinking, respect to differences, research, digital literacy, linguistic development, democratic inclusion and effective use of information technologies, lifelong learning and presentation. In addition, we will help prevent racism and intolerance among the young. Especially, we will enhance our students’ understanding of entrepreneurship in social fields and promote our students take part in civil and democratic life. Being student centred, our project will make our students think like a part of the solution and increase the quality and efficiency of education. By the help of innovative and integrated approaches, we will help to contribute to the social, civil and inter-cultural skills, being international and education and research supporting each other. With our project, the young people, both participants and the associated partners, will have the chance to understand and interpret the global issues better, try to find solutions and learn to be a part of the solution.
The participants and the associated partners will improve themselves in being a world’s citizen. With our activities, the young people will step up to the adulthood by discussing the world’s issues. By inter-discipliner approaches and partnerships, they will learn common values like; sharing experiences, getting closer, collaboration in education, dialogue among cultures and religions, freedom, tolerance, respect to human rights. We also aim to promote critical thinking, making scientific research, self-confidence to express their opinions. We believe that to have a voice in this era will only be possible by raising individuals who have the contemporary, national and international cultural knowledge, whose thinking, understanding and problem-solving skills are improved and who aim life-long learning. Our project will help these objectives by creating an educational environment in which we use human resources effectively and aim worth-living tomorrows. Therefore, we need international collaboration. In eTwinning portal, theme of this year is “Democratic Participation”. Our Project subject is relevant to this theme and based on students’ democratic participation.

Besides, all the participants will learn to respect differences by intercultural communication. We will contribute to prevent racism and discrimination among the young by our partnership activities.
