Project Summary

Throughout the project, we want to show our students the great variety of cultures that exist around us and make them great enthusiasts of the traditions and culture of each country. This is because we believe, very firmly, that cultural traditions, customs and habits make us the nations that we really are, with our own identity.

At this time when euro-scepticism is growing across Europe, it is the time to show young people that to be different (for example in culture, traditions, music, customs and habits, crafts etc.) can be beautiful and that on the contrary, we can find a lot of cultural heritage similarities which prove that it is worth staying together in one political and social union, in European Union. The knowledge of other cultures, as well as the range of possibilities that this opens, is crucial for a person’s future choices, that is why it is at the high school level when that intercultural learning can more clearly mark those choices, as to which cultures you want to know, what languages you choose to learn, or what studies are going to be undertaken. This is the objective we intend to achieve, making this intercultural knowledge available to teachers and students, between two friendly but distant countries, and with quite different cultures, so that these in turn can act as cultural ambassadors of the country visited in their countries.

For this project we have considered very important to include two schools of very different realities and in which the students will be able to find significant cultural differences. 32 students aged between 15 and 16 years, always accompanied by two teachers, will have the opportunity to make mobilities to their partner schools. Teachers will have the opportunity to share knowledge and skills. During the training events, 3 teachers from each center will receive training on new teaching methodologies, prevention against school dropout and use of ICT tools, with special emphasis on the eTwinning platform.

OBJECTIVES AND GOALS:
1) European citizen awareness
2) Awareness of cultural heritage
3) Prevention of school dropout: methodological methods to motivate students to continue studying
4) Communication in English and Spanish as key European languages
5) Creation of teaching materials.
6) Use of new information and communication technologies.
7) Creation of a network of education centers.

ACTIVITIES:
a) TwinSpace
b) Instagram Account
c) Creation of products, catalogs and language survival kit
e) Press releases
f) Creation of the online photo competition and the calendar with the winning photos
g) Video after each student meeting
h) Creation and competition of logo and slogan of the project
i) Kahoot Questionnaires for students
j) 4 mobilities for students and 2 for training for teachers.

Both schools will be highly involved in the knowledge of a European cultural heritage that surrounds us and that we have closer than we think. In addition, we believe in the importance of teacher training in new teaching methodologies based in ICT Tools, without forgetting the contributions that both schools can offer in their work about tackling early school leaving and disadvantages. If we add to the project an improvement in the linguistic competences of our students and teachers in Spanish and English, also creating material in the Norwegian natural language, we are making a set of very powerful contributions to the educational centers and communities that surround them, which they will have a very important impact in the future.

Closer links will be created of those already existing. To improve the linguistic immersions work, we will be carried out among students with exchanges, we will continue on issues that have to do with European citizenship and their cultural heritage, activities we´ll be carried out every 9 May to commemorate the Day of Europe and the contributions that have been acquired in both centers from the partner, we will be evaluated continuously. A help network will be created to help improve each and every one of the actions collected.

Other schools will be invited to see the results of our activities, maintaining and updating some of them with the help of collaborating partners of the school community. It is also intended, in the future, to carry out a more ambitious project, including centers without Erasmus + experience.

The use of Etwinning, with Twinspace and eTwinning Live, will be a fundamental part in the subsequent development of the project since much of the communication and activities will be carried out in these ways.
