Project Summary
Analyzed the evaluations in our School, it is detected, that as the students reach the last years of Primary and above all in secondary school, they lose interest and shows little motivation. We propose a methodological transformation of the teaching practice, including the incorporation of active methodologies such as Project-Based Learning, the development of tics and the design of new evaluation instruments. It has been decided to carry out the internationalization of our School, through strategic cooperation with other European Centers, to achieve our objectives, and the acquisition of teaching skills aimed at fighting mainly against early school leaving/ combating failure in education
Goals:
1-Reduce early school leaving rating by 4 percentage points. The activities designed intend to act in the students in a comprehensive manner promoting the acquisition of:
• Individual skills: improvement of motivation and self-esteem.
• Social skills: responsibility, solidarity, promotion of social integration and acceptance of others. This point will be reinforced by the coexistence with the culture of another country.
• Multicultural skills fostering tolerance and respect as the main basis of European integration.
2- Improve the level of competence in a foreign language, by using it in a real context.
3- Improve the scientific-technological competence: Provide students with the tools and knowledge necessary for the digital age
4- Incorporate active methodologies in the didactic programming (ICT, gamification, cooperative learning, project-based learning …) as motivating strategies and attention to diversity.
The partnership of three countries will respond to the needs of the project.
The partners are:
The CEIP San Isidro Labrador (Spain), coordinator of the project. Experience in Gamification of teaching and use of ICT tools.
• Organize the first meeting.
• Plan mobility activities.
• Respond to demands from partners.
The partners:
• They are responsible for the proper perfomance of the project.
-Prywatna Szkoła Podstawowa, Kalisz. (Poland), good level in English, and good results in PISA mathematics, They work using projects and collaborative learning. Some teachers and students are learning Spanish. They have good resources for working with ICTs.
-Instituto Comprensivo Giovanni XXIII, Altavilla Silentina (Italy). They have experience in Erasmus + Projects and European certification in digital competence (European Informatics Passport). Recent national surveys (INVALSI) show low results in mathematical competence and making it necessary to identify areas for improvement and corrective actions. By participating in the project we increase students’ motivation and interest in mathematics, combining mathematical contents with aspects of daily life in different parts of Europe. The School has a great technological equipment for ICT practices and workshops.
There are three groups of activities:
1-Inclusive activities. Activities carried out by the students in their own centers and / or from their own centers, carried out by presencial groups or on-line, which will generate the production of educational materials.
2- Teaching-learning activities, workshops, seminars and cultural visits. Taught by teachers, trainers or directors of schools.
3- Dissemination activities. Everything will be published for its disclosure. In digital or physical media.
E-twinning is the main meeting point and workplace of the project, because it allows virtual distance collaboration.
We encourage cooperation between European schools, favoring the development and acquisition of knowledge of students and teachers, creating great opportunities for social development, teaching respect for diversity and generating a creative attitude towards life and independence. With this project we promote cooperation among European schools, favoring the development and acquisition of knowledge of students and teachers, creating great opportunities for social development, so Europeans school organizations can benefit from this project;
First for the objectives pursued and because it facilitates the integration of ICT tools in education.
Second It allows to develop the digital competence of the students as a facilitating tool for a professional orientation.
Third. I help to Transform participating institutions into digitally competent centers, incorporating ICT in the teaching-learning process, in the management of Centers and in communication with families, as well as incorporating active methodologies, which allow us to increase student motivation and attention to diversity, combined with the incorporation of the narrative of the game into the classroom
