Project Summary

TLOWP (Teach and Learn Outside the Walls through Playing) is an International project to be carried out under the Key action 2 School Exchange Partnerships in erasmus+ programme. TLOWP consists of 5 partner schools from Poland, the coordinator, Turkey, Italy, Romania and Greece. Thanks to TLOWP, Partners aim to make their schools become a place where the teaching and learning activities are more peaceful, beneficial, interesting and effective. Recently, Bullying, Violence, Social Isolation, Failure, Racism are increasing rapidly and even young children are being affected from this situation and primary schools are facing with those problems more than in the part. Of course, the increase in the number of students from disadvantaged groups such as immigrants, refugees, romans, uneducated , lowpaid, unemployed families is fostering those problems but as teachers, we cannot wait without doing nothing but just complaining about the issue. So, What can we do? TLOWP has risen to asnwer that question and the partner schools facing the similar concerns came together to take into action. We believe that if we manage to get the interests and attention of the students and let them spend their energy in a true way, we can reduce the problems mentioned above.
The project idea firstly was appeared by the Polish and Turkish country in social media, especially in etwinning platform that They have started a project with the same title (https://live.etwinning.net/projects/project/167984), then, other partners joined their team and after a while, they have decided to carry out that project under erasmus+ programme. In the hearth of TLOWP, improving teachers professional skills and creating a more exciting, interesting, promoting atmosphere at schools occupies the most important role. Because, teachers are the main actors at schools to apply all kinds of legislations, rules, methodologies etc.If they renew themseleves according to the needs of their students and schools, schools can be better places fro all parts. Also, as for students, to make them leave their problems, bad habits, tendency to crime etc., it is neccessary to make them feel relaxed, happy, integrated and excited at schools.
All mentioned things above are the reasons to carry out TLOWP.
By TLOWP;
Participant teachers will;
exchange teaching/learning applications used in partner countries on the basis of Outdoor and Gamebased learning
meet new applications, compare and evaluate the existing ones
meet new cultures
improve their foreign language skills
learn about Europe’s Intercultural Heritage
learn about EU policies, bodies, targets
gain self confidence
Students will;
meet new cultures, people
practice their English
gain self-confidence
meet with new teaching/learning methods
make new friends
have a great opportunity at an early age
gain good personality manners
During TLOWP, Partners will travel to each other with a group of teachers and students formed as 8 persons in total from each partner. LTTAs of TLOWP will provide a great number of various activities for students and teachers. While teachers are working on teaching/learning applications on specific subjects in each LTT, students will also perform different activities in accordance with the theme of the LTTAs.
The main methodologies to be used during TLOWP are Kinaesthetic Approach, Phonemenal Approach, Learning/Teaching by doing, Multiple Intelligence, Demonstrations, Experimental learning etc. which we can call as practical approaches rather than theoretical.
In long term, the expected results of TLOWP are;
to make schools become better places to teach and learn by practical applications
to improve teachers’ professional skills
to reduce the unwanted events and manners/behaviour of pupils
to make participants be better citizens
to make participants understand the Eu, its policies, bodies etc.

In order to achieve all those outcomes, assessment and dissemination activities will be executed carefully and planned in detail. Our motto will be ” Share and Improve together”. The platforms such as etwinning, schoolgateway, Project Results Sharing etc., the school websites, local, national media will be used effectively during and after the end of the project.
To sum up, TLOWP is a project to find practical solutions to increasing problems such as failure, bullying, racisim, isolation by improving the teaching/learning professions of participants and broadening their wisdom.
