Project Summary

This project proposal concerns the issues that we are all facing in terms of preparing young people for the life after school.
Currently all the secondary schools like ours are engaged with the education of the Z generation. The generation Z has grown up with Internet and social media, presenting itself in a way that the young people want to be perceived.
For this reason, there is a need of teaching these young people how to market themselves in an appropriate way, how to build their own brand and learn new innovative ways to stand out and align their goals with the people and employers that can help them get to the place they aim at.
The aim of the project is to prepare and help students from secondary school to choose the best path to follow, after their school experience. Many students at the end of their studies ask themselves, “What am I going to do now? Am I prepared for the life after school”? This happens because often they do not have enough information or knowledge about the existing opportunities that are offered worldwide.
Each one of us has its own abilities and skills, but it is difficult to discover and to develop them without any help.
Therefore, the partner schools in this project believe that the creation of an online toolkit on personal branding will be of help to students who thanks to that will be able to evaluate their strengths, weaknesses, skills, competences. It will provide support to the students to find out what makes them stand out from the rest which will get them prepared for university and career.
Moved by this belief, we have created a project which objective is to give young European students information on how the after school life works and to explore theirselves, to better understand their abilities and talents in order to see what is the best choice for them.
This project will be developed in 16 months and it will train students from 4 partner schools from Bulgaria, Italy, Poland and Greece in order to gain significant experience in preparing and choosing a career or university path. Four mobilities will take place within the project implementation in which a group of 4 students and 2 teachers from each school will take part.
The students will be trained in very important issues such as self-knowledge, job application and university application. Experts will teach them how to write CVs and cover letter or how to fill in an application form for universities, and how to manage their online presence. In other words, by the end of the project they will be provided with a toolkit on building and developing a personal brand.
All the activities and all the meetings will be focused on the realisation of these objectives, using an active and cooperative methodology that will favour group works.
The conducted activities will be documented on a project website so that it will be possible to have a day-by-day upgrade of the project.
The expected impact is to improve the abilities of the participants and to increase the self-awareness about their own attitudes, their skills, self-esteem and confidence when facing the challenges and problems that life may bring them.
The teachers are expected to improve their teaching competence thanks to the learning of different practices. This will bring a personal satisfaction and value to their daily work as active trainers who help students to discover and evaluate their skills.
All the people who would like to build their successful, unique image will be affected by the creation of the online toolkit on personal branding because it will be a chance for them to get the knowledge how to achieve that and for universities and employers it will provide a better view on the students that they will enrol or hire.
