Project Summary
Our students are in their last year of vocational school and prepare themselves for a vocational training of further school training. This project aims to improve their communication and presentation skills and enhance their knowledge of foreign languages. A greater topic on both engaged schools is the topic of school absenteeism and early school leaving. With this project, in which 50 Polish and 50 German students will participate, we want to encounter this problems. The topic of our project is sustainability and environmental protection. Both are important topics for our students. Our project starts in September 2019 with the selection of the participants based on motivation and background (financially, familial, need). All students start with a local workshop in the “Klimahaus” in Bremerhaven respectively in an ecological wine growing in Zielona Gora. With a workshop in Kreisau/Poland the topic of sustainability will be looked Astrid Templin globally with the help of a simulation game and first project ideas for the practical implementation of sustainability and environmental projects in our respective schools. After the return those projects will be planned further, the budget will be established, tasks will be given out to the group members and then the ideas will be implemented. At the end of the project year we will meet again with the students who have successfully carried out the projects in Prora/Germany. We will visit concrete sustainability projects on Rügen and will discuss with the responsible persons. Furthermore we will look back on the project and analyze and assess the achieved outcome. Personal goals for the students are improvement of motivation, which will be measured with lower absenteeism and lower early school leaving rates. Our students will have improved their presentation skills and foreign language skills and will successfully start their vocational training.
The engaged students are between 17-19 years and students of the biennial commercial school in Bremerhaven respectively technical school in Bremerhaven.
