Project Summary
The increasing efficiency of new technologies is transforming our way of life and the way we learn. The diversity of mobile devices, their simple use and practical digital applications are invading our daily lives, attracting more and more people, and getting closer to the interests of young people, mainly with regard to fun and social activities. As educators, these devices can be considered as hotbeds of school activity and alienation of reality or, on the contrary, to use them as motivating elements of learning and as educational resources for practical and experimental activities, in contact with the real world.
This project will enable teachers, educators and the general public to use digital tools and home automation for educational purposes.
Thus the five partners will pool and share their know-how to build (virtually and / or on site) the house of tomorrow (connected modern house) and its immediate environment (floral garden and aromatic and medicinal plants) in respect of sustainable development rules and answers to the problem of ecological transition which consists mainly of reducing the consumption of fossil fuels in a large part of human activities : industry, transport, lighting, etc. ., taking into account the natural, cultural and historical heritage of each country.
Virtual productions or physical productions (which will be upgradeable) will be used as teaching aids by the teachers of the disciplines involved but also as part of the creation of a mini-firm for construction professionals.
Experiences, good practices, know of the project for the use of new technologies and the evolutionary possibilities will be multiplied during an international seminary at the end of the project.
The Lycée Professionnel de la Trinité will coordinate work teams of more than 30 teachers and 150 students between 15 and 19 years old from six general and professional schools (Lycée Professionnel de la Trinité, France, Escola Secundária de Loulé, Portugal, Liceo Scientifico e Linguistico Principe Umberto di Savoia, Italy, Šolski center Krško-Sevnica, Slovenia, Pärnu Ühisgümnaasium, Estonia and HTL Pinkafeld, Austria).
Based on the priorities of the Institutional Projects, the analysis of the needs of each and the target groups, the partnership has set the following objectives for this project:
1. Encourage the use of teaching and learning methodologies, using ICTs and new technologies to motivate students and facilitate learning.
2. Build educational resources that bring theoretical school subjects closer to practical and real learning situations, an important motivating factor for students with learning difficulties and disengaged students.
3. Develop the skills needed for the use of digital resources. For students, particularly those who are falling behind the traditional system, ICT can be a motivating factor, facilitating learning through the wealth of its resources.
4. Develop the communication skills (oral and written) in foreign languages of pupils and teachers.
5. To promote inclusion and tolerance through collaborative work between students in different educational pathways (general and vocational), from different social backgrounds and belonging to vulnerable groups, and from different countries and cultures.
With this project, the partnership therefore has a strong impact in:
– the development of collaborative work skills, project management, language skills and the use of digital and new technologies,
– the evolution of social skills and promotion of European citizenship,
– the impetus of practical teaching and learning methodologies to increase student motivation and reduce school dropout,
– the discovery and promotion of the cultural heritage of the six partner countries in the service of school space, but also educational.
