Project Summary

As most of our communication is on-line, using phones or PCs on social networks, it is vital everybody knows some basic rules for on-line safe communication. Also, due to the accessibility of internet, the bullying and discrimination phenomena reached huge dimensions and are more complex. We believe people must know how to react in case of bullying, protect others and limit it. We want to contribute to educating people on this topics and create some instruments for anyone interested, combining the experience and different backgrounds of 5 European schools with the same interests and priorities that started an eTwinning similar project.
Objectives:
-Raise awareness of the bullying and discrimination
-Create a support group for the discriminated, disadvantaged or bullied ones
-Improve the communication abilities and language skills of participants
-Educate: how to react in case of bullying or discrimination, detecting fake news, safe use of social communication platforms
-Create materials which can be used by other schools or communities to limit the effects of fake news and of discrimination
-Improve the language skills of the teachers, the team work skills for both students and teachers and use ICT to improve cooperation
-Promote the understanding of different cultural heritages
Participants:
Students: 30 from each school, 13-17 years old (from which 20 in international meetings), that is 150 students (100 in international meetings); more than 600 students will attend the dissemination activities and in total 4500 will benefit from the project’s results (the schools’ students and others participating in festivals, workshops, etc)
Teachers: 4 teachers from each country, a total of 20 teachers. The target groups will consist of all the teachers in the partner schools, about 250 teachers.
Parents: about 60 parents from each school-that is 300 people, who will participate in hosting, in dissemination activities.
Local communities’ officials’ representatives, experts, policy makers and other stakeholders: 6-10 from each country, who will participate in the implementation phase of the project (and in the conferences organized in the international meetings) and as sponsors in international meetings. (30 to 50 people)
As the title shows, we have 2 topics: 2BSafe, that is Safe Browsing (communication) and Bullying Safe. We will create 2 groups who will tackle the 2 directions of the project:
-the B1 group in charge with the communication part of the project (rules of safe communication, how to make a profile on social networks, fake news and how they impact our lives)
-the B2 group in charge with anti bullying and discrimination (create and present a drama on bullying in a drama festival, creating a support group in each school for the bullying and discrimination victims, create a set of rules on how to react in case of bullying or discrimination).
Reference points: 5 international meetings, where the teams work together, present their activities and decide upon the final results of the project, create relationships, increase their communication and linguistic skills and teamwork abilities.
Apart from the general activities (management, dissemination), each group follows its specific agenda:
-B1:how to make an on-line account on social platforms, The Decalogue for safe communication, how fake news impact my life-politics and health, exhibition and OER on eTwinning, The Decalogue for detecting and protecting yourself from fake news
-B2: workshops on choosing a bullying case and treating it in a play, play script and repetitions for the drama, presenting the play in a drama festival and in international meeting, campaign for raising awareness of the discrimination and bullying phenomena, creating a support group in each school for the discrimination and bullying victims, The Decalogue of Stop bullying.
Results:
-A project website on eTwinning
-Improved awareness of the bullying phenomena
-Improved knowledge on how to react and limit discrimination, bullying
-Know how to detect fake news and materials about Fake news and health, Images that lie
-playscript on bullying phenomena
-1 video on safe on-line communication on social platforms
-The Decalogue of Safe on-line Communication
-The Decalogue of Stop Bullying
Impact:
-schools will offer a safer and more attractive environment
-participants will have some basic skills on Safe Browsing and will be able to stay and help others stay Bullying free.
-school will offer materials that will improve the learner’s capacity of detecting and protecting themselves from fake information
We believe our project’s results will benefit a large category of people, due to its topicality. Everybody using the internet needs some basic safety rules, which we will provide through our project, as well as communication hints. The on-line communities, any school, institution will be able to use the project’s results as they will be available on eTwinning, Erasmus results platform and links.
