Project Summary

”Six countries, six schools, 233 teachers, 2900 students aged 2.5 to 14 years have joined this ambitious project that concerns screens.Television, internet, video games, the smartphone are an integral part of the lives of children and their parents today. If these inventions allowed to entertain the population and to bring the information in all the houses, one must not forget that rules must allow the users not to be intoxicated. So we decided to share the work according to our skills and our desires: privacy, fake news, harassment, video games, television, … We will base our reflections on surveys built together and distributed in each country. We will attend conferences on various topics in transnational mobilities. Meetings with educational teams, with inspections, with administrations, children and their parents will naturally be planned in order to forge links between partner countries and bring out all the ideas and leads. We will also work on the benefits of these media and how to use them wisely but also all the activities we can put in place to get by without them. Three partner countries have already worked together and their experience on issues of conflict and harassment can really be very helpful. The expected result is the realization of a small guide for children, their parents and teachers who can help them when they have any question about the screens: television, games, smartphone, the tablet, internet, social networks, …This guide will provide answers to their questions and our hope is the creation of an application dedicated to the subject, based on scientific studies, which will be disseminated between the partners who will in turn make them known around them. This application will be created with the help of computer teachers from partner schools. In the long term, we hope that children, parents and teachers will be receptive to this application and will take into account all the advice we can give them. Indeed, we live in a society in which technology advances faster and more often leaves some people at the side of the road, unable to keep up with the pace of this evolution.

The major problem that arises today about screens is that of a fracture between those who have the user manual screens, including family, and those who do not. Our teaching role is therefore to fight against this fracture and its potentially catastrophic consequences. It is this role that we intend to fulfill through this project. ”
