Project Summary

The project will focus the attention of our students on the peculiarities of the territory where they live. Discovering what the territory can offer in terms of environmental, artistic and monumental attractions, specific niche products coming from local farms or crafts, cultural events and what can be related to a so called style of life, the students will learn how these “products” can appear appealing to the partners’ students for their enjoyment. The activities will allow the students to discover unknown perspectives related to the region or country where they live and how these distinctive traits can produce wellness, social cohesion, and chances of job and wealth. The challenge is that they have to present them in a captivating way to their partners and build with them a series of tours related with Culture, and Enogastronomy, and generically, with a style of life, specific of the area where they live.
The students will create different multimedia products (flyers, posters, videoclips, a website) where they present and advertise specific tours related with “Tourism, Enogastronomy and Culture” in typical location of their area. They will offer the outcomes of their work to selected stakeholders and local administrator, in a specific event closing the meetings.
Every school will grant the mobility of 24 students and 4 teachers, with a staff of other 4 teachers collaborating to the activities.
The students of every school will collect info and different materials related to the topic, will share them with partners via internet, will work in presence during the meetings to create a touristic offer based on tours, thought to promote some specific aspects of their own area.
The main methodology will be the “flipped classroom” and the “project work in team”.
The results we expect from this project are:
– discovering of hidden peculiarities and increasing of the consideration that our students have about the territory where they live
– understanding how these peculiatity can look appealing to people coming from other countries and cultures
– learning how the resources of their own area can produce work and wealth
– improving the students’ English fluency in a work context
– improving their ICT skills.
On the long term the main benefit will be the enhancing of students and families’ European sentiment, making them proud of their cultural heritages thanks to the activity of sharing them with the partners. Another aspect will be the contribution that the school may give for the promotion of the territory where is located, reinforcing the relationship with the social and economic istitutions at the local level.
