Project Summary

We have chosen to work on school bullying because, we and our students have identified this issue as a major cause of suffering and even of school drop out
In too many cases, silence and normalization of bullying are the only answers given to this issue. Adults as well as pupils lack knowledge and tools to help out other children and their families.
Working in the European field is a real opportunity to assess bullying reality in schools.
We wish to have the pupils’ and the adults’ point of view, taking into account that , according to our experience, they both tend to normalize bullying situations or even see them as non-systematic examples.
Working in the European field is the opportunity for highschool students to become aware of this issue, to be more familiar wih it in order to find answers and efficient tools with their European peers : bullying has no borders.
The European dimension will enable us to meet those involved in various educational approaches.

Over these 2 tweening years, we have the following expectations :

As a first step :
– to create and design a logo which will help participating schools to come together in the project and to be easily identified.
– to use jointly-prepared questionnaires in order to identify common bullying-related issues in various European Schools, to choose awareness-building tools and to organize the use of these specific tools ( videos, digital tools, drama, songs,,,) in each school.

As a second step :
– we would like students to present the tools designed by their school, to debate over their use and over the necessary adjustments each country would have to make in order to be able to use their partners’ tools.
– We would like these tools to be tested in each school so as to prepare a special « event ».

As a third step :
– we would like to choose the most relevant tools among those tested by the pupils in their school in order for them to manage this « event »
– We would plan to launch a debate over the possibility of a European « Stop Bullying Day » to our government leaders.

Finally, as a fourth step :
– we would need each school to report on the « Special event » they have chosen to organize using their own media and to determine whether the tools they had chosen were relevant enough.
– We would also like to set up a « common basket » in which every school ,willing to work on the bullying issue, might be able to find useful ideas.
– Eventually, we would finalyze the project of a « European Stop Bullying Contest » and of a European Day against school bullying.

Over the coming months, we will be using the E-twinnig platform to :
– To enable the project members keep in touch
– To exchange over the project progress.
– To elaborate questionnaires
– To forward reports

Our European project should help everyone of us to stop saying : « I did not know » and « I did not know what to do and where to ask for help »

Beyond these 2 coming years, the main idea is to set in stone the following principles :
– enabling each school to declare « stop bullying » as a priority for the whole educational community. We would like every pupil to be able to live safely in their school, knowing that adults and schoolmates are all aware that bullying is a serious matter.
« Bullying is a poison and silence a prison but awareness and mutual assistance are a path to find a remedy»
– naming local« advisors » in each school across European Educational systems ( adults and pupils)
