Project Summary

„MEET ON THE EUROPEAN ROUTE” is an international cooperation project which main goal is increase of knowledge about the European cultural heritage, acquisition of skills to shape this heritage by 125 students from schools in Garwolin, Dionysos, San Marcello, Cordoba and Canidelo at the age of 11-15 at a level that gives them preparation for the role of European culture leaders.
We assume that by implementing the project, we will be able to draw attention of students to the world of culture and art, to increase tolerance for other cultures, motivation for learning, teaching, taking part in courses and to develop teachers’ competences associated with modern and active teaching methods.
The actions included in the project are targeted both at students and teachers. During the implementation of the projects, the participants will become familiar with learning strategies, they will develop their reading and listening comprehension skills, as well as writing, oral and self-presentation abilities. Moreover, they will learn how to handle stress. Exchanging staff experience during project work sessions and popularizing good practices will help the participants to address educational inequalities and introduce innovative forms and methods of education in their schools.
Integration and development of the participants’ communication skills will be possible through common educational and experimental classes, as well as games and field games.
Since the partners communicate in English, the participants will also have a chance to develop their language competences. The employment of modern techniques, tools and methods of educations helps to prevent school failures and early school leaving. We assume that in the near future such elements will support higher degree education and will ensure a high level of social inclusion.
Therefore, the project not only meets the needs of students and local labor market, but also addresses the challenges faced by teachers. It has a positive impact on the quality and effectiveness of education, which directly translates into raising quality of the school activities. The planned training sessions aimed at boosting professional development of the teachers involved in the project, schools from all over the Europe may embrace innovative solutions.
The implementation of the project will help us to secure contact networks with teachers of humanities and arts and foreign languages in other EU member states, as well as other schools and to become involved in other student-centered projects. It will also draw teachers’ and students’ attention to other EU cultures and prepare the latter to take the role of citizens of a multinational, multicultural and multilingual European society.
Scheduled activities are at local and international level. During the local activities, participants will prepare films, presentations, conduct workshops, rehearsals and competitions. In turn, international events are: material presentations, film screenings, workshops and cross-border projects, national evenings, discussion panels meetings, concerts and common games and fun.
We also plan to create eTwinning projects.
Among the methods used during the project implementation are: individual and in a group work; brainstorm; discussion; workshops; demonstration; the presentation; performance; concert; games and fun; attempt; direct participation.
Among the results will be material products: School Chambers of Cultures, poems and other literary forms, tour programs, artistic creations, scenarios of humanities and arts, DVDs and CDs, information materials, photos, website, graffiti”, presentations, design materials, performance, developed paths and space for communication between project partners. In turn, among the intangible results will be knowledge and experience gained by project participants during the implementation of project activities in the field of knowledge about cultures of European countries, better skills of using modern ICT tools, enhanced professional competence of teaching staff, improvement of communication skills in a foreign language, increasing the level of awareness of being a citizen of a united Europe, exchanging experience and good practices, as well as establishing international partnerships.
The effects and results of the implemented project activities will have a long-term impact on participants, parents, the local, regional and international community. They will be placed in the partners’ schools libraries, on YouTube, on the project website, in online resources for teachers, in local and regional media, in social media, as well as in the information and promotion materials of the project.
