Project Summary

The project “E.QUA.L.I.TY. – Europe for QUAlitative Learning and the Inclusion of diversiTYies” intends to address to the need to foster the acquisition of citizenship skills and the integration of the most disadvantaged students in the scholastic context, starting from the experiences of the relevant project partners:
– Italian coordinating Institute, the “E. Fermi – C.E. Gadda” of Naples, which found the need to work towards the inclusion of those students coming from single-income families who risk if not adeguately integrated at school to be recruited by criminal organizations;
– Romanian Institute “Gundogmu High School”, which clashes with the need to adopt inclusive strategies for students coming from rural contexts;
– Latvian Institute “Davja Ozolina Apes vidusskola”, which warns of the need to encourage the integration of students from peripheral areas and the country’s border;
– Portuguese Institute “Alves Martins” which has experienced the problem of bullying;
– Turkish Institute “Gundogmu High School” which warns of the need to integrate different cultural realities.
E.QUA.L.I.TY.” project’ s objectives are:
– reflecting on the meaning of European citizenship and on the protection of human rights linked to it;
– educating to the respect of diversity, contributing to the reduction of discrimination against students from immigrant families;
– improving the ability of teachers to propose educational activities able to integrate and involve also students coming from the most disadvantaged social contexts.
Starting from these needs, “E.QUA.LITY.” Imagined the realization of 5 mobilities each one addressed to 25 students (5 per school) and to be set in Latvia, Portugal, Turkey, Italy and Romania. Students mobilities will last 5 days (excluding the 2 days of travel). The project E.QUA.LITY also planned the realization of a mobility addressed to 3 teachers per partner school to be carried out in Italy for a duration of 3 days (excluding the two travel days). The mobility of teachers, which will take place in Italy in December 2019, will be aimed at sharing the teaching methods adopted by each School and reflecting on what may be new and more effective strategies for the scholastic integration of the most fragile students (students from areas geographical areas, from families with economic difficulties or from migratory contexts).
Student mobility will be preceded by the implementation, through the use of eTwinning, of 2 days of blended mobility, which will be preceded by preparatory meetings held independently by each individual School. They will focus on the following topics:
– “CULTURAL DIVERSITY MARGINALIZATION AND INTEGRATION”. The mobility that will take place in Latvia on March 2020, starting from the analysis of the meaning of culture and identity, will analyze the effects that could be caused by the spread of prejudice and distrust of other cultures. Then it will reflect how each cultural identity has emerged from the intersection of multiple cultures, analyzing some cases of positive cultural integration;
– “IMMIGRATION AND INCLUSION”. The mobility carried out in Romania on the month of May 2020 will make an excursus on the main immigration and emigration phenomena that have involved the European States present in the partnership and then move on to analyze how these phenomena have changed the European identity and on the migratory phenomena that are currently affecting the European Union;
– “HUMAN RIGHTS AND GENDER EQUALITY”. The mobility that will take place in Turkey on October 2020 will propose a reflection on the meaning of gender equality after examining the figure of some women who have distinguished themselves in the countries participating in the exchange and in the European Union for specific merits;
– “I FIGHT BULLISM”. The mobility that will take place in Portugal in January 2021 will analyze the issues of bullying and cyber bullying;
– “EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP AND SOCIAL RIGHTS”. The mobility that will take place in Italy in March 2021 and will represent a summary of the previous activities, highlighting the role that the EU is laboriously assuming for the promotion of social rights closely linked to the concept of European citizenship.
E.QUA.LITY.”, Providing the sharing of innovative teaching methods, intends to make a long-term impact not only on the participants involved in the mobility, but also on the entire educational institutions, providing them tools to use in the always more multi-ethnic classes of students. The greater attention to the issues of inclusion infact will favor the decrease of 2% of the school dropout rate, the continuation of the E.QUA.LITY project on eTwinning and the start of a new Erasmus + project for the sharing of teaching methodologies inclusive by the year 2020.
