Project Summary

The main objective of the project “Breaking Barriers through Sharing Treasures” is to involve young people to cooperate together with peers from different cultures, make them more tolerant and respectful, give them the opportunity to be involved in interesting tasks, be more motivated, more confident and open for learning and knowledge in order to be rich with competencies for their future life and enhance the value for Lifelong Learning.
Futhermore, our mission is also to rediscover, discover, explore and protect cultural roots reinforcing a sense of belonging to a unique European space, this is a priority to this partnership designed by members from: Poland, Turkey, Italy, Greece, Macedonia and Portugal. The activities proposed in this project aim to provide our students with the right background both in their education and personal development, foster responsible and active citizenship who protect and respect the weaker members of society promoting social inclusion and solidarity with other people, intercultural and inter-generational education, develop transferal competences which will contribute to job creation, economic growth and social cohesion, stimulate creativity so as to create a positive environment for children to celebrate and enjoy Europe’s Cultural Heritage, combating inequalities, violence and discrimination – always prevailing social inclusion. Definitely, the all activities will enable pupils to gain the necessary skills for their future and thus increase the social and educational value of European Cultural Heritage.
Students from various parts of Europe, from different schools and institutions, will be involved in the project activities. Students aged 10-16, our target group, will be encouraged to participate in workshops, games, contests, cultural trips using their language and English: the project logo, flyer for the contest, a poster promoting the project, a calendar and PPT presentations. They will also communicate in English with their peers of the partners schools using TwinSpace for on line meeting and other tools, Facebook, mails, socials and during the Learning Teaching Training Activities. Everything will be done through discovering our European Cultural Heritage.
Every participant will be familiar with different methodologies like project-based learning, learning by doing, by teaching, gathering data, sharing experiences and best practices with the other ones, enhance and improving their competences in ITC and English.
As a result, with the implementation of the project, the children involved will become more tolerant, better critical thinkers, thus solving problems more easily and making decisions with more awareness. At the same time, these activities will help students to socialize better, communicate and interact as a team, cooperate with peers from different cultures to make them more resilient, to give students the opportunity to engage in interesting tasks to be more motivated, more confident and open to learning.
There will be two open days in every partner school to show our results our school plays about the legends, our national dances and the students who will take part in the Learning Teaching Training Activities will share with the others what they will learn and visit in partner countries.
Our contribution in terms of sustainability will be made also through the tools used from the beginning of the project: eTwinning/TwinSpace, every partner school website, Facebook project page which will be kept after the conclusion of the project in order to share the outputs with the partnership communities and other stakeholders after the project’s end making our knowledge, experience and best practices spread.
