Project Summary
PROJECT CONTEXT
Our project is based on three topics: IT tools, Civic engagement and Cultural Heritage. Topics contribute to developing new methodology for validation of learning outcomes (formal, nonformal, informal). European Development Plan in our schools suggests that the reports on the school level show significant need to find new methods and tools to validate learning outcomes.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
– Recognition of the learning outcomes with the new validation methodology (created, implemeneted and evaluated by all project partners – a list of IT tools used to validate learning)
– Integration of new pedagogical models (flipped classroom, blended classes) and teaching methods with the use of IT (exploration, project based lessons, outdoor lessons)
– Using modern technology for tool development and validation of learning outcomes in digital form (forms, blogs, e-portfolios for pupils)
– Enabling pupils to independently participate in projects related to civic engagement by providing methods (meet your local representative) , tools (a letter to government, organising a petition) and events (interview with an EU representative)
NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS
PUPILS – 95 pupils from 5 participating countries, 11 to 16 years old. Students with learning disabilities will also participate in the project.
TEACHERS
– participants – 27 teachers from 5 participating countries
– local participants – 20 more teachers will participate
LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES / DECISION MAKERS
– local decision makerswill be involved in some project activities about civic engamement.
HEADTEACHERS
– Their role is project dissemination and participation in local short-term join staff training events
PARENTS
-online surveys and questionnaires related to non-formal learning, they will also be involved in dissemination
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
– 3 short-term exchanges of groups of pupils and 2 short-term joint staff training events
– blended activities (eTwinning project “Learning@school” virtual mobility combined with short-term exchanges)
– activities in schools:

METHODOLOGY
The following methodology will be used:
– Interactive workshops
– Surveys (Preparation, implementation and dissemination)
– Group and team work
– Insight in the teaching process
– blended activities (eTwinning + short-term exchanges
– Panel discussion
– Practical work
RESULTS
– 10 new IT tools which 400 pupils will implement in 20 classrooms
– 7 new way of validation non-formal learning will be implemented in classrooms by 25 teachers
– 1 online five-language travel guide – contributing to the topic of Cultural Heritage – non-formal learning guide
– 1 online booklet “Validation of non-formal learning” with project results
– 20 lessons in five different subjects (Teachers’ guide on how to validate a chosen topic with examples)
– 2 portfolio templates for pupils (lower and higher primary school) template, translated into 5 languages
– 1 eTwinning project
– 5 interviews with representatives at EU level (civic engagment)
– a series of Illustrated guides “HOW TO PARTICIPATE”
– a SELFIE online tool used in all project countries
PROJECT IMPACT
TEACHERS
– invent, create, implement and present new methods for validation of non-formal learning
– have enhanced compentences in foreign languages
– have enhanced their teaching skills and enriched their lessons
– use eTwinning as a blended teaching method
– have enhanced competencies in using ICT tools for non-formal learning
– can validate their IT skills using SELFIE online tool
PUPILS
– have enhanced competences in using English
– are able to use new validation and self-evaluation tools
– have enhanced thier skills in the area of learning to learn
– can apply ICT tools in all school subjects
– have enhanced awareness of cultural understanding
– have enhanced level of understanding of cultural heritage
ORGANISATIONS
– permanently enhance the education and curriculum quality
– improve transparency and recognition of skills of both employees and pupils
PROJECT SUSTAINABILITY
PROJECT WEBSITE will be used as a main source for dissemination, together with photos, news, project diary and videos, an the list of IT tools, together with e-potfolio templates and blogs and learning scenarios
WORKSHOPS FOR TEACHERS will ensure that the project results are used in other schools after the project’s end.
ETWINNING GROUP -Teachers from partner schools will continue contributing to this group
