Project Summary

In this project, the Isendoorn College, Gymnazium Kadan and Gymnazium Karlovy Vary aim to work together to create a long-term partnership to discuss, and work on, sustainability in an international setting. Through an exchange and through the use of eTwinning, all three of our schools aim to raise the students’ awareness of, and participation in the prevention of, local and international global issues. We want our students to be prepared for active participation in a society in which sustainable development and environmental problems have become increasingly important. Because many environmental problems go beyond a nation’s borders, each school recognizes the importants of working together with students from other countries. Our students will learn how various local communities can have different needs to tackle similar environmental issues due to their culture, geographic location and the community’s demographic. This should result in the students working on, and also realizing, potential options to combat the environmental issues in various local communities, impacting their own lives as well as the lives of the people around them. Long term benefits would include stronger international relationships between our schools, more cultural awareness in our students, as well as an increased ability to be active on an international level, and even improvement in how students and their communities handle environmental issues.
