Project Summary

Postmodern man’s life is gradually undergoing major changes, and students with a high level of curiosity are not the exception. The project “You are my Challenge” is challenging because it presents the new problems faced by students in the current European education system on the background of the psychological profile specific to young people, new attitudes, beliefs and behaviours, that are often very difficult to perceive, understand or accept by adults. The project includes three-level structured activities: forming an emotional state of the pupil and its affective – positive guidance, improving the knowledge of students with notions, ideas in the field of wellbeing and healthy lifestyle and training of sports skills.
The main goal of the project is to improve the level of inclusion of children from disadvantaged groups through the formation of healthy lifestyles, respect for their personal lives, their own health and of the others.

The specific objectives of the project are:
O1. acquiring knowledge regarding the physical and mental health of the 100 participating students
O2. developing the English speaking skills of the 144 participants throughout the implementation of the project
O3. forming healthy eating habits to the 100 participants throughout the project implementation
O4. developing sporting skills among the 100 participants students throughout the project implementation
O5. organizing working groups in order to facilitate the development of social skills, interpersonal and intrapersonal communication of the 80 students throughout the implementation of the project

The total number of students participants in the project will be 100.
The participant’s profile:
-to be a student within one of the schools of the partner organizations
-to be aged between 12-15 years old
-to have minimum English knowledge
-to be available to participate in the activities of the project
-to demonstrate creativity and initiative

Description of activities
1. Cultural and linguistic preparation activities aim to enrich pupils’ knowledge with the socio-cultural background of partner countries.
2. Counseling activities to identify students’ risk behaviours
3. Digital activities -making power point presentation presentations/prezzi, interviews, flyers, loading materials on site etc.
4. Sports activities-outdoor activities, sports competitions between students

The work methodology will be based on experience learning – practical learning, case study, simulation, workshop, debates, role play, critical analyses and reflections, brainstorming, ice-breaking exercises, team-building exercises, etc. All activities will ensure the observance of the non-formal education principles in combination with formal education, the acquirement and practical application of useful and practical working strategies for the socio-cultural learning environment in European context.

Impact on participants
-increasing the sense of security in school
-preventing and reducing risk behaviours

-improving school results due to the opening of the school environment, acceptance and tolerance;

-enriching knowledge about healthy eating, the effects of alcohol, tobacco and drugs on health
-promoting a healthy lifestyle

Impact on teachers
– increasing the level of understanding of the risk behaviours to which students are exposed to
– learning new methods and techniques of behavioural correction of students
– forming an overall view of the relationship between behaviour and acceptance, non-discrimination – improving the professional and cultural horizon
-improving knowledge about physical and mental health of individuals, healthy eating

The long term benefit of the project is:
1.Discovering new methods of approaching problems, unusual ideas, perspectives, skills and new knowledge
2.International networking – through the project the participants come into contact with lots of interesting and different people who contribute to the development of the personal and professional horizon
3.The students will gain some new knowledge regarding basicsubjects: mother tongue, foreign languages, ICT,healthy lifestyle,well being,consumption of prohibited substances etc.
4.The familiarization of students/teachers with the traditions, customs and cultural values of the partner countries
