Project Summary
Social exclusion is not only a problem of schools, teachers, but also a serious problem that concerns the whole world. It is necessary for our institutions to use the right techniques in cases such as social exclusion, peer bullying and intolerance, for the children, the general and the future of the society. Our institutions, which respond with hate to individual differences and encounter with children who are at risk of violence, need to perform a systematic study in this area, even if they intervene individually. In this regard, as institutions (Italy, Turkey, Romania, Lithuania and Sweden) in order to determine the outlook of our students to the diversity of our students have done a needs analysis study. The Needs Analysis Report showed that 55% of our students were prejudiced against the differences of individuals belonging to fragile groups. In children exposed to social exclusion, serious risks such as early school leaving, inclination to violence and crime are observed. Children who are pushed out of school because of social exclusion are quite unlikely to be employed in a qualified job in adult life. In this respect, our project will serve to achieve the purpose of prevention of school drop out in EU Development Program. It is seen that in many projects currently implemented, short-term solutions are being sought on case-by-case basis for the problems of vulnerable children. Although short-term solutions are useful for certain cases, they can cause children to relive similar, perhaps more severe mental and academic problems in the long term, unless they create a systematic change in behavior and behavior. Thanks to the drama methods, our project of social exclusion prevention is strengthening empathy in children by using various techniques such as warming emp fusion studies, pantomime, improvisation, role playing, story creation and dramatization. aims at preventing social exclusion. In order to achieve these goals, we organized 5 LTT activities. We have planned the participation of our students between the ages of 14-18 from the middle class or the disadvantaged past.
LTT activities;
C1 Turkey, Pantomime. Entrepreneurs Flash mob event as a result of First LTTA.
C2 Italy, Improvisation. A short film about children’s rights as a result of the second LTTA.
C3 Romania, Role Playing. As a result of the third LTTA, I am building empathy. I love my friend.
C4 Lithuania, Story creation. Fourth LTTA As a result of the students’ parents, parents to students stories magazine.
C5 Sweden, Drama. Fifth LTTA As a result, I love my school drama shows.
Students will be more active, participatory, tolerant and peaceful individuals through activities involving social inclusion through drama techniques. Thanks to LTTA, the situation that will cause tension in society such as family, friendship, neighborhood deterioration of social relations, social inconsistency of individuals who cannot meet basic needs, early school leaving and social exclusion will be prevented.
Our project teams will deal with the project preparation, execution, organization, monitoring and auditing services. Prior to our mobility activities, our project teams will complete all travel related activities of the participants as part of the preparatory work. In addition, project teams will take various measures to prevent problems that our participants may experience throughout the LTTA. All the reports and feedbacks will be evaluated and a questionnaire will be applied to the participants in order to measure the efficiency and benefit of their acquisitions as a result of LTTA. In the scope of dissemination activities, the knowledge and skills acquired by the participants who participated in the mobility activities will be organized firstly with the schools in our school and then in the localities, and our institution will be expanded with the cooperation of social media, internet, local and national press, and even in the national area.
As a result, the elimination of social exclusion from the problems of our project, the decrease of peer bullying in our schools and the rates of early school drop-out (16 percent from the statistics of school data) are expected to decrease by 3 percent in the coming years.
